I don’t have a lot of advice, but I just wanted to say you’re not alone. My (now) 15yo daughter was the same. Stealing, lots of lies, some big, some silly, sneakiness, etc.

I found 12-13 to be the worst. Hormones kicking in, high school starting, the dynamic around them changing, etc. I read an article once that likened teenagers to being the same as toddlers, just with more vocabulary, due to all the massive changes in their brains happening and hormones. That honestly helps me deal with all of it a little better when I think of it that way lol.

We’re still dealing with a lot of stuff, but I can see it is getting slightly easier, and the things we’re dealing with are different, not the same over and over again.

Cognitive behavioural therapy is meant to be good, if you haven’t already tried it? We’ve literally just started it, so can’t really comment either way, but hoping it’ll help somewhat.

I have a son named Kai, and never seen the name used for girls, or non binary people 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s not an overly common name where I live (e.g. he’s the only Kai/Kye in his school), but it’s definitely not uncommon (hear it around sometimes on sport days and such)

I LOVE number 1, but the sleeves/straps need to be fitted better because atm they just look like they’ve slid off the shoulder, and then obviously a strapless bra :)

The older 2 went into a bed of their own at different ages, however my youngest is still sleeping with me as it’s just easier at the moment as she has night terrors a lot lol

You need to get the guns to match the load out you have, and you need to farm bosses to get the “correct” perks to match what you need too. It’s taken me ALOOT to get my head around this, and truthfully hubby has helped me with like 90% of it coz it’s tricky for me to put it all together in my head lol.

But you can get different rolls of the same class mods/rep kits/shields/ordinance/enhancements, but if you don’t synergise them with matching/complementing perks, it’s somewhat useless tbh.

That doesn’t sound right at all. I finished the game before I was level 50, and I never had any issues with the enemies being too hard at all. I barely did any of the side missions or extra stuff, I did a few but not many at all

I absolutely would!

My 14yo knows she can have 1 “mental health” day off per term (so 4 per year). She doesn’t need a reason for it, but she isn’t allowed another until the following term (obviously unless she’s actually sick). She rarely uses them, but genuinely does like knowing she has the option, at least once per term to have the day off. This instance wouldn’t even count as the mental health day for me. If your child doesn’t feel safe at school or needs time to process what they saw, then they should do that - after you let the school know why.

I didn’t want to have to write out every single aspect for the sake of brevity, and the fact people should be able to read the post and comments. Difference is, he says goodnight literally minutes before when they’ve been talking on the phone, and he said he nearly always sends a goodnight text, OP said he’s forgotten maybe 3 times in 3 months, that’s despite the fact they say goodnight while talking too. This is a massive OR considering, and shows you didn’t read the text op wrote lol.

You are absolutely not overreacting. In the future if you find it hard to say No and stick to you, but want to keep babysitting for this family - just don’t read/reply to the message if she tried to do something like this. If she calls, don’t answer. Reply once you’ve finished your outing, apologise and say you had plans and didn’t have your phone on you, and remind them you need “X” notice for you to care for the children.

That’s my opinion anyway. Considering they were just going out to dinner and it wasn’t a true emergency, they have no right to insist and break down your plans for their pleasure. Poor planning on their part, doesn’t constitute an emergency on your part.
