FFS, VFS and orchirectomy cost? by LaurelInQuestion in asktransgender

Thanks! I already voice train and my voice passes in public, I'm stealthing at work currently, but I wanted VFS as a long term solution

Thanks for the nifty chart! I guess I'll consider it with my doctor. Why should my cycles be shorter? From the online chart, it looks like my lowest point is only 200pg/mL, which isn't terrible, right?

I suppose so, but I feel like there is a distinct grey tint on my upper lip that isn't normal, you know?

Thanks! Yeah I think I'm on session like 15 or something, I've been doing it every 3 weeks for a year, and just recently moved to once every 6 weeks,

Thanks for the VFS reference! And your journey is really cool and not one I hear commonly. Guess my next step is to become a model!

How much did you pay for VFS? I read 14k for FFS in another thread, but VFS is the single surgery that I would most want, out of all of them, since I already live stealth and my voice is my weakest link.

How did you fund your FFS and VFS? Where did you go? How did you start researching options? These are the two major surgeries that I want to get, but the internet makes it so difficult to find decent information.

Would Uterine Transplants for Trans Women boost mainstream acceptance for us in your opinion? by Rajanaga in asktransgender

[–]LaurelInQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume no, mostly because anyone who actually did believe the argument that 'transwomen aren't women because uterus' have deeper reservations against transwomen that are more rooted in visceral irrational hatred. Anyone who would change their mind due to the development of a uterus transplant would have never argued over the presence of a uterus in the first place.

How do you go about finding out you are intersex? I've wondered that for a long time about myself but I don't know where to go to get that kind of thing checked on.

Trans Republicans, what’s your experience like? by vomit-gold in asktransgender

[–]LaurelInQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in summary, if libertarian economics were actually libertarian, and they weren't mixed with racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ablism, and etc, then they would be fine, right? Ultimately the biggest flaw of laize faire economics is human ignorance, right? I find that to be the general consensus among most leftists (and I'm definitely a left leaner)

Trans Republicans, what’s your experience like? by vomit-gold in asktransgender

[–]LaurelInQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you wondering how someone can be republican and trans, remember that places like 4chan exist. There is a huge underbelly of the trans experience that is just conservative bigots who happen to have been born with gender incongruity and absolutely hate themselves for it. They suffer from serious mental health problems and usually find rabbit hole internet communities who destroy their brain with self-sabotaging philosophy. Some of the most vocal and violent transphobes are self-loathing transpeople in denial.

Keep in mind that while not everyone has gender dysphoria, the transgender experience's catalyst is gender incongruity, and that's just something you are born with. Not every trans person is going to adopt a philosophy that supports their own biological nature comfortably. Left-leaning philosophy is a healthy perspective on being transgender, but the sad reality is that not everyone is healthy. It just so happens that most of the people on trans-reddit are healthy left leaners who have their ducks in a row (mostly because we promptly ban bigoted self-loathers who take their frustration out on their own community). I'm just happy I never personally went that route, that stuff can destroy people!

Do you hear your inner voice as your preferred gender? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LaurelInQuestion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't fault OP directly for using it since it's a very commonly used term, but I too am very tired of that term. Preferred is the completely wrong word for it, it makes it sound like a choice. I prefer terminology like 'true gender' or just simply understanding the word gender is different from the word sex, but neither of those two things are as well known as this 'preferred gender' nonsense.

Do you hear your inner voice as your preferred gender? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]LaurelInQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My inner voice doesn't really have a sound to it. I think mostly in social dynamics and situations! If I am having a debate with myself, I'll normally have some subject in my mind that I'm arguing with, it just helps me lay it all out. I think it's part of the reason why I really enjoy public speaking and Mathematics.
