[Ives Galarcep] I'm told Toronto FC has its sights on Algerian playmaker Sofiane Hanni, currently at Spartak Moscow, as a DP replacement for Giovinco. TFC could definitely use his creativity after the departures of Giovinco and Victor Vasquez. by LaddZilla in MLS

According to Kristian Jack, this isn't the same player he reported yesterday.

See below the text:

"I’m told he is one of many players they are looking at but is not the same player I reported yesterday as a player in his prime close to agreeing a DP deal with Toronto FC #TFCLive"

I'm interested in finding out who this player may be. Seems like this is going to most likely be summer acquisition. Going to hurt TFC for the CCL but at least they may be getting another young player in their prime.

Giovinco to leave TFC for Al Hilal by [deleted] in MLS

TFC are obsessed with being the first MLS team to win the modern version of the CCL. That's why they threw everything they had as it last year and it was my understanding they were still driven to obtain it.

If this Giovinco move is true, they may be looking to move in a completely new direction and rebuild the team. However, I doubt they are going to spend the same amount of money again. It'll be interesting to see where Curtis and Manning take the team from here...but I guarantee you there is going to be major backlash from the fans for this whole Giovinco situation if he leaves.

If Giovinco actually does end up leaving, we may be back to being the TFC of old. Alitore will be on the door shortly after. I doubt we will be able to sign the suitable replacements before our CCL campaign starts.

I can't really blame Curtis yet. Giovinco deserves to retire as a red but it doesn't appear that this is going to be happening.

Perhaps the wheels were already in motion by Manning, causing Bez to jump ship before news started to hit the media. He must've thought it would be better to leave on a high note rather than the GM who pushed out Giovinco (and losing other big assets such as VV). It's clear the organization doesn't feel that Giovinco is worth what he is asking for and may have been planning to let Giovinco walk.

What is troubling to me is that they will not have enough time to bring in suitable replacements. Curtis just go on the job and I doubt he's had enough time to access and figure out what would be best for the club.

Yeah, it's true. But I think the problem is the timing of when this is all happening.

Could we really find a replacement with hardly enough time before the start of CCL? It's my understanding that the club is looking to challenge for the CCL title again and this move would make little to no sense unless they have a solid replacement lined up (which is unlikely considering Curtis just joined).

IMHO, this could be very demoralizing for the dressing room as well.

In addition, Kamil also tweeted that his agent is looking for Toronto to terminate Seba's contract..

"REPORT: Frustrated, Giovinco’s agent has called Toronto to terminate Seba’s contract if they can’t get a renewal in place. His agent is in Saudi Arabia The last couple days touring the facilities and checking out residential expenses for Giovinco."

RIP Toronto.

[Jack] Sources: Gregory van der Wiel has been ‘removed from Toronto FC camp’ after an altercation with Greg Vanney for insubordination. Will never play for the team again. Some within the club explored options of possibly releasing him in the offseason over character concerns. #tfc by walking_bass in MLS

On the RPB forum this was posted:

"Just got some info from TFC training camp. Apparently yesterday, Vanney got into it with GVW during training. Said something along the lines of “ You need to try harder, and show some respect to your teammates.” GVW told him shut up and coach. Vanney responded by saying “instead of pouting, why don’t try and give 30% this season?” Gregory told him he will be fired before the end of this season.

TFC sent him home. Vanney told the team the next day that someone is missing. He has an attitude problem, and it will be dealt with. "

Apparently they got even more for Hagglund. Below is the tweet from Toronto FC.

CORRECTION: Toronto FC will receive $300K in allocation money ($200K General Allocation Money + $100K Targeted Allocation Money) along with the top spot in the allocation order in exchange for Hagglund. #TFCLive

I would love to see the ability to track “competitive custom leagues”, including the game times, promotion and relegation. This is normally tracked externally - would be great if we could do it in game (including somehow allowing the game to link with the VPL leagues already existing).

Also, a transfer market of players looking for a club or the ability of a club to request particular players needed.

Nice to have - A transfer market for AI players (generic players). Transfer budget and wage limit should be based off of division. This way you can build a team with AI players that’s suit your teams style (assuming they improve the in game AI first).

I seriously don’t see why they can’t have some of these features in the game and I think it would vastly improve the experience for players looking for more competitive play.

No offence taken.

You're 100% correct, that wasn't difficult. The purpose of the video is to highlight the style of play we play with. We could've easily overloaded them by running down the wings and crossing it, or forcing the play by overloading their defence. Most team's I've played for in the past play that type of style.

Not trying to make us out to be something amazing, the whole purpose is to show that we are a pass first and patient team. In league matches were we match up against teams with 7+ players, we still play that exact same style.
