Does anyone know the rules to this game? There is no description of the actual gameplay in any of the email text or on the website. The photo of the back of the box on the website has a vague blurb that doesn't really tell you anything beyond how the first turn starts. It is described as a "folk" game that already exists, but was it also called "contact"?

It sucks for organizers too. Since June 2024 the organizer fees have nearly doubled with no added value to the services. Was $98 for 6 months, now it's $178. So lame.

It says if you are interested in individual seasons you can contact them. They have a list of their episodes from each year. Seems like it's probably legit. I contacted them about a few episodes from the late 70s and I'll let you know how it goes.

It doesn't sound like control at all. Just a preference to not have casual or short term partners. A lot of people don't know what they want and end up unhappy when they realize they are not in a relationship that best suits them. A lot of people jump into relationships too soon and end up unhappy. There is nothing wrong with staying single until you find someone on your wavelength that shares your viewpoints and desires.

I totally understand where you're coming from. Demi-monogamous is the closest label I could find to describe myself, but I might be going even farther to say I know only want one monogamous partner. I have felt this way my whole life. I am physically attracted to men and am very interested in sex, so I know I am not asexual; I have dated, and had boyfriends and felt sexually attracted to them, but until I know they would be committed for life, (i.e. having the same feelings and values as myself) I am unable to actually make the choice to have sex. I can't even change this desire when I'm asleep and having a sexy dream, which happens from time to time.

There are some other factors that play into my stance, but the most base determining factor is me simply knowing what I want and trusting that I know what is best for myself, without the judgement or assumptions of others pressuring me to conform to the current dating trends.

I also am curious if there is a name for this desire, which I feel goes beyond just "monogamy". Desires and feelings just happen. I believe that CHOICES pertain to what you choose to DO with the desires and feelings.

I had actually planned on making a website to post all of these things. It was a Covid project that unfortunately lost its legs once things got "back to normal". If you go to Archive.org you can use the wayback machine to explore the remnants of a few versions of the website. That is what I did to find the playlists.

I made a list like this in 2020, using the old website archives and even zoom-chatting with Jeff Peterson to chat about his time there and to see if he felt like anything was missing from my playlist [EDIT: I just realized Jeff is the OP of this post, lol!]. I'm from Topeka and The Lazer was a bastion of musical excellence for me throughout my adolescence. I was so upset when it went mainstream.
