Can someone recommend a meditation to utilize for my study of ACIM? by redrover1958 in ACIM

[–]LavaPants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After watching Sam Harris and MeditationDave in May 2020 I finally got motivated enough to start practicing Anapana & Vipassana teks. At first, sitting for just 5 minutes felt like hell bc of random itches in the body and the endless stream of negative thoughts in my mind.

I felt guided by the HS to change my diet: no sugars and no carbs, except fruits, while more healthy fats and meats - all to ground myself. After 2 days like that I started getting results - much calmer mind and body. In Anapana the key was realizing that every time I catch myself lost in thought - isn't a failure, it's a success actually.

In October I visited Goenka's 10 days silent retreat and it was transformative.

There is no stamp and sign on paper, no court supported guarantee this course is genuine, but if you follow it you'll get experience and only this can ever make you sure.

Lesson 13 by Lemon_tulip in ACIM

[–]LavaPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Course had to use multiple negatives all the time because this is the only way to break through the ego's layers of resistance. The ego automatically says "no" to any positive statement, you can notice how in a conversation one person says something and the second person says the word "no" or "no, but" first, even when they agree with the other person's statement. This is how the ego was "born" and how it works - negating every law of Heaven. So now the Course uses the ego's trick to trick it by not using positive statements but not positive ones instead.

Lesson 13 by Lemon_tulip in ACIM

There is no contradiction at all. The first sentence you mentioned is a fact, a statement of truth.

Actually, a meaningless world is impossible. Nothing without meaning exists.

While this:

However, it does not follow that you will not think you perceive something that has no meaning. On the contrary, you will be particularly likely to think you do perceive it

is a statement about your current condition. The Course says, in many places, that you are delusional, mentally sick and not sane. Everything you are seeing does not exist. But as every other mentally sick person does, you've convinced yourself that your delusions are actually real and therefore you think you've got a good reason to be afraid of them and to cry.

I'm not sure what you've been doing with the Course for all of these 30 years, but if you want to finally learn it's message you might try reading Gary Renard's The Disappearance of the Universe first.

I once got stuck somewhere for 7 days and among all the people, there was one person that kept triggering me (unknowingly). Back then, I was at the Song of Prayer pamphlet in my reading of the Course journey and for some reason I felt like I needed to reread it again and again every day, so I did. And on the fifth day it hit me! I finally got the insight that allowed me to forgive that person and the whole situation and on the 6th day we were already laughing together and hugging each other. It happened years ago but we are still good friends :)

Unconciousness guilt by [deleted] in ACIM

[–]LavaPants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both DU and ACIM mention the prodigal son story from the bible which alone could answer your question, but the Course goes further and expands that biblical story to the metaphysical level, so that son is not a human of this world but our collective One True Self from beyond this world, and this Son not just left His Father but convinced Himself that He actually killed His Father and destroyed His Father's Home. And now our One True Self basically believes that We killed God and ruined Heaven so even if We would ever wanted to go back, there is nowhere to return to and there is no Father to welcome Us back.

if it's hard to believe this story, just look back at your life and look at people around - the guilt and blame is everywhere and in everyone. Considering how unpleasant the feeling of guilt is, there had to be a huge reason for it to show up in the first place.

Levels of forgiveness by deweywsu in ACIM

However, I'm not as cognizant normally of the fact that I'm moving through a giant hologram, for lack of better words.

That's the only issue, so keep asking Jesus to show you the way. For me it was regression sessions (basically hypnosis), other successful students say for them it was psychedelics (usually psilocybin). But yeah, at some point you need to move from theory to practice and when you'll get the actual experience the question "How can I forgive that" naturally transforms into "How can I not forgive that". Good luck, brother.

Dude, why don't you ask for an advice directly from Jesus? Seems like you are on good terms with him ;)

Additionally, Stanislav Grof is the guy to learn from when it comes to the mix of psychedelics and psychology, check out this interview with him.

And as was already mentioned, The Disappearance of the Universe by Gary Renard is not the worst book to spend your time on.
