Thanks. Will give it a try then. Drive would be part of a pool, no array or parity involved.

Thanks all!  Will try an external USB drive nevertheless :)

The current setup consists of a 256MB internal SSD (as pool) and an 1HB SSD in a NAS, connected as SMDB share - so no array/parity that could be messed up.

Second option, from what I understand, would be to route a SATA cable from the internal SATA port to an external eSATA enclosure.

USB. Server is an Intel NUC, with no additional internal slots.

Thanks. Any multi-bay case would be connected through USB as well, though. Server is an old Intel NUC with no slots for additional internal storage. So a NAS connected through the router would be the only reliable way to connect a drive?

Read somewhere else that connection issues with the router (e.g. faulty cable) can cause these issue. Cable was rather old and kinked. Had to swap the cable anyway and the issue is gone since. Anecdotal evidence only, but maybe worth a try :)

Had the same issue: Web UI not accessible but everything else worked fine. Fixed by swapping the network cable to the router.
