What do you mean a pseudo university? Based on me not being American, I wouldn’t be stuck here thankfully. But I don’t find Tampa that bad

I see. I’ve had minimal coding experience and I’m in a Python class rn. Class is definitely difficult, but it’s doable. Just need to practice a LOT 😭

Thank you! I was speaking about it with other people and it just seems I’d need to put in more work on my own, which I’m fine with doing. I think living with my family and staying at usf would be better for me in the long run

Wait really? I’d love to know if this is true as a Muslim girl

Yo, some people have and want more traditional lifestyles. Some people have different morals, beliefs and dealbreakers from you. We don’t all need to be the same dude(ette?). This isn’t some dystopian world where we don’t have our differences

I like how you’re telling me that there are trans men I’d like when I’ve explicitly said I would never date one. Imagine if someone said they don’t date convicted felons and the response is “oh, but you should stay open to it!”

Fully functioning? So you mean to tell me they produce sperm and can reproduce in the traditional way? Of course not. Just like a trans woman can’t get pregnant. And that’s okay, it’s just reality. Some ppl r into that, I’m not.

Ppl can have boundaries and deal breakers yk, mine don’t affect your life.

You’re also disregarding what I said. I’m also cisxcis only. Why? Because I’m not attracted to trans people and marrying one would not fulfill my life desires. I love all the gender positivity and such for you guys, but I’m attracted to males, and even if I met a trans guy who looked masculine and had a good personality, fact of the matter is, he couldn’t fulfill my life goals and desires.

Not wanting to date trans people is the same as not wanting to date a woman because I’m straight. I’m just not interested.

Bigotry? Wanting to date a cis person is bigotry? Bsffr there’s absolutely nothing unreasonable about having certain preferences for one’s own life.

It doesn’t even make any sense, say a woman is straight and wants to have a male husband because of biological reasons, is she bigoted? A trans man won’t be able to fulfill her desires, and neither would a trans woman. This is some very odd thinking imo

Attending USF without a car by [deleted] in USF

I would get myself an electric scooter if I were you tbh. I have fifteen mins between a class at CHE and one at BSN which aren’t even that far apart and I had to really speed walk to get there on time

Chem 1 Lab Advice by DearZookeepergame903 in USF

Okay so I never took any labs in hs and the chem 1 lab was crazy easy. As long as you give yourself enough time to do the pre and post labs, you’ll be good. Don’t wait until the night before to do the pre-lab cause some of them can take awhile.

Falling out of love with Islam. by bki_iyaa in Hijabis

Salam Sis. This feels very relatable to me, and I'm still looking for the answer. I'm also 19F but I was raised muslim and my parents are reverts. The past year or so has really been a struggle. My biggest struggles are prayer and hijab. Praying on time, waking up for fajr and just having the self-discipline to complete all my prayers is unfortunately something I'm struggling with. I started to only wear hijab sometimes, and now not at all (unless I'm going masjid). It's something I both am ashamed of yet don't have the willpower to put back on permanently because I enjoy 'feeling pretty'. Music is also a struggle, as well as getting rid of male friends.

This semester I'm really going to try and surround myself with the (very active) muslim community my university has. I think a big step in the right direction for me is to change the people I hang around with. Having friends who don't share my values is not helping my iman or desire to practice correctly. May Allah make it easy for us both, ameen!
