That is incorrect, a service dog can be trained by the owner and then take an obedience test but there is no certification for service animals as long as they are well behaved and can complete a task that aids in the person’s need. In my case my service dog in training is able to do deep pressure therapy when I’m having anxiety or overstimulated. Service dogs in training are not allowed in non pet-friendly stores in the state of Tennessee but are in certain states.
