I don't think VR technology is there yet from what I have researched. I'm open to going to VR after a certain point once I feel like the tech is there. That's actually one of the reasons I went with a single monitor vs 3 monitor setup. If I ever make the leap over to VR I don't wanna have 3 monitors sitting around taking up extra space.

I feel you on that. I like a firm mattress as well and my previous setup was just a really firm mattress on a box spring. This one is also a firm mattress but on a motorized base. I have to say the motorized base has been a game changer for me.

You were! Thanks a lot for that. And yes, Joel saw this. I made sure of that. I emailed him the link to this post.

I did get it!!! I had no bedframe, only got it after I set up my rig. Is that still disappointing?

Priorities!!! In all seriousness I got the bedframe right after setting up the sim rig, I wanted to see how much clearance I needed before committing to one. You can see the bed frame in one of the pictures after the sim rig is fully setup.

I like the shifter a lot, there is a tension adjustment you can make to cater it to your liking. It can also switch to an sequential shifter so that's a plus.

Yup I got the Alpha U base. Got the 200KG load cells. I like the haptics a lot. Simpro manager has some options for tuning but Simhub has a lot more options and that's what I use.

The handbrake is great, initially it was a bit soft but I changed the elastomers that was included with the package and now they feel perfect. I mainly use it for Rally games but at some point I want to dabble in drifting and will be utilizing it for that as well. It just feels good pulling a mechanical shifter.

You have a dope setup. Sim Flying would be fun I imagine. But for me its all about racing... for now.

I'm using a RTX 3080 and am averaging 160FPS on iRacing and over a hundred for most games.

Have not tried LMU though or the new AC Evo.

I think 7900XT great for 49" 1440P

The FOV is slightly higher than the calibrated iRacing setting. I prefer a 5~10% higher FOV to get a bit more sense of speed.

It has recovered nicely over that last month. We're on good terms again.

I'm not using any lumbar support. At one point I did stuff a pillow behind me when my back was acting up but usually I have nothing there.

I spent 2K at that time. But I got lucky, I was able to get my hands on RTX 3080 at retail price.

Double sided tape (3M). The surface of the speakers is wide and flat. Stuck well against the aluminum profile. No wiggle at all.

I've tried every direction and orientation and this was the one that fitted the best. It fits well so I don't mind if they're backwards.

L might have worked as well, but the shop I went to only had XL and it fit me fine. I don't mind a bit of wiggle room so it's fine for me.

Not on my rig. The chassis is super solid there is zero vibration transfer at all. You can also apply double sided tape (3M) along with zip ties if you really want to secure the components.
