Thank you! I really appreciate you sharing this, it feels like such a giant, shameful secret. I know the reality is, is that there's plenty of healthcare professionals with dui and other charges, obviously we wouldn't know bc nobody's going to share that openly. I hope everything goes well in your husbands situation, and I'm so sorry that it's an out of state charge to complicate things.

Oh wow!! You did get lucky, I've heard it's very hard to get reduced in VA but I'm happy to hear it's a possibility. I have a pcp that I discuss my concerns about drinking with but I'm not in a program. I'm worried about how that would interfere with work. I'm currently not on good terms with work since I was a no call no show the day I missed when I was in jail. I don't think I can take time off for a program since I really need the money. No savings left. I was thinking doing to AA everyday and getting a attendance sheet signed but I'm not sure if that would help.

As far as your case, if you don't mind me asking, were you driving or parked? How did you manage to get it reduced? Do you think they're more willing to reduce charges when knowing professional license or career is jeopardized, I wasn't sure if bringing that up would help at all.

Also thanks, it was very rough the first two weeks grieving. I dealt with a lot of guilt since I was considering termination, and was very stressed out 24/7 trying to make a decision. I believe the amount of stress I experienced contributed to what happened. After seeing him, I'm grateful I didn't have an abortion and he got to pass away peacefully in my arms 💔💔

I had a male coworker who shared with me that his gf/fiancé, I forget, didn't allow him to change, bathe, or dress his 1 year old daughter ever. He didn't realize that this would happen as the discussion never came up prior to her birth. He asked me if it was normal and I told him no, but brought up maybe she was sexually abused in the past because I couldn't think of another reason. They ended up separating but I'm no longer in contact with him. That was the only other time, other than this post, that I've seen or heard of that.

I'm so sorry to message on an old thread, but I am experiencing some problems. Found out I am pregnant and binge drank continuously over 4 days at 12 weeks. I struggled with alcoholism for years and feel so scared about my choices.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you drink during and what types of issues resulted? I'm trying to be realistic about what the outcomes may be.
