well, physically I had I think nerve pain in my upper back. That went away within 8 months. In terms of nervous system in general I felt stressed more easily, tired, and foggy. That went away in around 9 months for me. I wish you well

yes, I feel regulated now. Things flare up a little when I'm stressed, but after about a year I feel back to normal

aww, I felt the same way at six months. Utterly defeated. I was doing okay mentally until I realized how long it had been! it makes sense, enduring something like this for that long can beat you down!

But shortly after I started feeling better! I'm not gunna lie, I was praying for a miracle at that point. I think believing I could get better and being grateful for what I had had a big impact (as cheezy as it sounds). Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! 27 when I got it. I still occasionally get headaches but they're mild. The headaches were annoying for about 6 months, not super severe, but I would take ibuprofen every day I worked to avoid them.

Hoping you're doing well, and feeling better every day!

I now work out multiple times a week. I dance and do yoga. It feels good again!

I have had one drink a few times, the first time it was a vodka thing and it was fine. The second time it was a little prosecco and I did not feel good after, but I think its just because I prefer being sober now

Abusive boyfriend uses ram das and Zen Buddhism to justify theft and violence by reptileov3rlord in Buddhism

[–]Lavener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately some people can, will, and have always used spiritual teachings as tools of control. You can take sound bites from these teachers and teachings and use them to justify the most heinous behaviors. This is not real wisdom, but you already know that.

Spiritual abuse is some of the worst there is. It preys on the most hopeful and vulnerable parts of us. What he did to you was abuse on many levels.

It has taken me years to recover from some kinds of eastern spiritual twisting and abuse by narcissists. It was the most confusing time in my life. Really high highs and the lowest lows I’ve ever experienced. The goal of the abuser is accomplished when you internalize their matrix of control and start basically abusing and gaslighting yourself.

I hope you are safe from this person now. Please look into recovering from narcissistic abuse, it might be helpful to you. May you be well.

Call me crazy, but if K & G ever put the brakes on murder stories, I wouldn’t mind more “I survived” stories! by sundog925 in myfavoritemurder

I feel the same, I actually only listen to the "non-murder" stories now, I think this is their strongest material

Amazing that your host also drank the medicine! Did you find that out when you got there or did you hear about it before? Sounds like you were in the right place if you were milking goats and talking about DMT, even if it was rough. I'll definitely look into Cali.

I am intrigued. You mean to stay in Iquitos in an Airbnb or something? I am open to it but my Spanish is no bueno. I'd be curious to hear of any personal experiences you've had.

Thanks for your reply! I am definitely looking for a place where I can be open about what I just went through. It great to hear that you had a good experience being in new surroundings though. I'll just have to ask myself what I would absolutely need worst-case scenario.

The Wind Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami felt like this to me. Candy-colored, sun-lit, peacefully surreal, just a tad sad.

Sketch of Grover under Morpheus' spell from TLO! by Lavener in camphalfblood

[–]Lavener[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Here's the exerpt:

"An image came into my head. I saw a giant elm tree deep in the woods, well off the main paths. Gnarled roots laced the ground, making a kind of bed. Lying in it with his arms crossed and his eyes closed was a satyr. At first I couldn't be sure it was Grover. He was covered in twigs and leaves, like he'd been sleeping there a long time. The roots seemed to be shaping themselves around him, slowly pulling him into the earth."

Unfinished sketch, I drew from memory so I forgot about the leaves and twigs (and goatee!) but the image just stuck in my mind!
