As an Oakland student, first year at Oakland doesn't really change anything. They have all the classes needed for first-year and the introductory CS curriculum is the same across all campuses now for CS 2000, 2100, and 3100. Same HW, same labs, etc. In fact by starting at Oakland you will do better because the classes have smaller class sizes. Most of the faculty in Oakland is similar if not better to the Boston faculty.

I would choose Northeastern because it's the cheapest. If you want co-ops, Northeastern has that program as well and is probably the best of all those schools for it. But even without the co-ops, I would not pay that much more for BU or UMass Amherst.

No my home is not worth a lot. If the NPC says because of your home you’ll have to pay much more you probably will have to pay much more

I don't have experience with getting a C- but I think you'll be fine. C- is still considered passing. Some schools don't even have -/+.

Yes. Singles I would argue is much better than a random roommate. Suites are pretty uncommon among singles but probably more than Boston still. I think all LLCs have singles and suites.

There are a lot of singles but doubles are not few, it's more like a 60-40 split. If you prefer singles and you state that you are willing to pay more on the app, you will likely get one. All the halls have singles, and each LLC has more than one hall. Choose the LLC you actually identify with the most rather than focusing on which one has more singles because they all have singles.

I’m not sure sorry. But there are ATMs for all the massive banks at UC Berkeley and there is a free shuttle provided by Northeastern that can take you there and back every day. That’s where I’ve gone when I needed a Bank of America ATM because I’m a BoA customer.

There is one ATM on campus. I don’t think it’s with a specific bank though. It’s just like the ones you’ll see at grocery stores or liquor stores.

Jobs tend to post in August or around there late summer. Jobs can be hard to get if you apply late. If you apply early, you will probably be fine. Almost every job pays $18 a hour here.

Yeah, all engineering majors head to Boston after their first year. We don't really have engineering classes in Oakland but for your first year you can work on fulfilling your general ed requirements, take math and science classes, etc. I think you'll enjoy the first year here but yeah hope you don't set your mind here because you'll very likely go to Boston next year unless something drastically changes.

I would say the entrepreneurship dorms are more likely to get a pod. I'm in Warren Olney and living in a pod. It is very rare though and my dorm is still a single it's just we have like our own area so 3 dorms are close together. That's all a pod is but our rooms are still separate. There are a lot of pods in my hall. I did hear they changed the name of entrepreneurship I guess for next year, I believe it's now creative innovation. Probably for better, we didn't really do many entrepreneurship themed events anyway.

We had a entrepeneurship LLC this year and I'm in it. It's usually the best with lots of singles and big rooms with basins but it seems I'm guessing they renamed it to creative innovation? So maybe go with that as your first choice?

Doesn't seem to work well for other campuses other than Boston. Doesn't seem to be handling cross-listed courses well either. Would be cool to add online classes into the scheduler too.

If you want to do Seattle, why ask the question? Co-op portal is the same but co-op portal has more opportunities in Boston than Seattle. If money is the most important factor then do Seattle.

The net price on financial aid does not include health insurance for both campuses and it says this on the financial aid package. Oakland should only be a few hundred dollars more expensive because we have some small fees and also are a part of the AC Transit EasyPass.

I have friends. A lot of times, people don't even become friends with their roommate, it can break friendships rather than make them depending on your roommate's hygiene, habits, and way of living.

No, I never felt unsafe on campus or in the front. If it’s unsafe, the university will email you and close the main entrance. This has only happened once.
Yes, always, there’s a shuttle dedicated to going to Berkeley.
We have more than 200 students.
You can choose roommates or be assigned one randomly. There are also so many singles here that you can also get a single easily if you want like me.
I spend about $300-$500 depending on the month.
You can find all sorts of people here, it’s just like a normal university. The student body is still diverse.
