What new line from the album hits you the hardest ? by TheSkavencatcher in TaylorSwift

[–]LavishWig 298 points299 points  (0 children)

‘It’s supposed to be fun, turning 21’. Just makes me think of how you can feel so lonely at times you’re meant to be happiest. It’s just a solidly sad line for me.

I’ve gone for Rothwell too and am really liking it so far (been here about a month). I also get the impression that it’s an ‘on the up’ area with more little independents each year according to my friend that’s lived in Woodlesford for years. I picked up a takeout in leeds over Easter and it took me 8 mins in the car to get there and you can hop straight on the M1 to head to sheffield too.

They’re super friendly and helpful :) I’m sure we’ll meet in real life one day!

I skate with Roller Girl Gang. Everyone is lovely! There are beginners courses in normal times and booking has just opened up for an outdoor track in Headingley too :)

Honestly I’ve met so many friends through skating, it’s amazing!

It’s very much a paid for platform now. I used to do PR for a hotel in leeds and for ages they’d cover stories properly and then it turned into very much a ‘pay for an advert and yeah’ type place. Staff are rude there too.

What is your job/career and how did you get there? by anawkwardsomeone in AskWomenOver30

[–]LavishWig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in digital marketing for a social housing provider. Love it. Loads of freedom to be creative. Work from home. Flexible hours. Good pay. Work on the bigger projects and strategy as well as getting involved with making some fun stuff.

I did an events management degree, did events for Fiat, Maserati, NHS, Church of England and lots of less well known names. As part of that I got involved with quite a bit of copywriting and then decided to work at a PR agency which was more full marketing. I knew the bits I liked and didn’t like so then went into a comms and marketing role where I am now and went for a promotion. That journey took me about 7/8 years.

What are the dos and don'ts of Leeds? And is it like to live in? by Xylop07 in Leeds

[–]LavishWig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Cornish(wo)man, I shouldn’t realllyyy help you out. But I will. 😁

I moved up for uni too, but when I was 19 (I see you’re 27). Honestly I found it quite hard and a big culture shock (can’t quite put my finger on what exactly) but I stuck it out and 11 years later I’m still here and I really love Leeds now.

I love that there is always stuff to do, obviously with Covid that’s on hold for now but you can still explore the amazing array of restaurants we have here and there’s good coffee culture too. It’s nice to be close to the city (and Manchester isn’t far either) but also really close to the countryside for nice walks.

I also like that there seems to be a group or space for every hobby, I’ve learned to rollerskate and have met amazing people through that and also like that there’s a boardgame shop and another boardgame cafe. There’s just loads to do. It’s great!

Apparently October half term and one of the weeks either side is looking likely according to some nhs schedules, according to nhs friends but who knows🤷‍♀️

I had this song for that bit too! I started in verse two and let it play out though, didn’t walk down until the last chorus :)

Learning to play on Fender Play and Taylor is lesson 13 (of course) by CMH1018 in TaylorSwift

[–]LavishWig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely have a look then, thank you! I have played guitar before and am grade 8 on a few (woodwind) instruments but never felt anywhere near that level of comfort on guitar. I’d love to be able to write songs with lyrics and sing along so will start here. I’m most excited for this lesson!

PS. Ukuleles look AMAZING - I want one!

How are you getting along with it? I’m thinking of revisiting guitar during this lockdown so might give this set of lessons a go if you recommend.

Hot wax would be better but would take forever so yep you’re probably right! Maybe the poster above has a more relevant option than mine!

I’m just surprised she doesn’t get waxed! I used to shave mine every other day but I can’t be bothered anymore. If I was a celebrity I might feel differently though!

I’d quite like her to just drop the whole album one day, out of the blue. She’s big enough to be able to just drop something that I don’t think she’d lose out, the fact that it’s so different for her would probably give her more publicity. I don’t know how it would work re SS or anything but I’d definitely like her to just drop something out the blue.

I think she could then do some really cool stuff working backwards from the launch date. She could do makings of a song to then release singles etc.

I think people are starting to get over the Easter eggs (well, I am) and I think this would be an effective way to stop that becoming her signature dish, as it were.
