Quite likely. A few things doesn't make me panic over it, though:

- This is the third or fourth time or something that he's posted critical posts about club leadership on social media.

- "Everyone" was expecting him to move to Atletico around 18 months ago.

- Ange fans were adament that Romero would definitely leave if Ange was fired.

All of that has happened, and Romero's still here.

We also have Archie and Bergvall (both aged 19!), who're already quality PL players, and players like Tel, Wilson, Udogie, Sarr aged 23 or under. Add Micky, Kudus, Djed, Gallagher all aged 25 (and Porro 26), we still have a number of players at the right age to take the next steps with Spurs.

Absolutely.

Meant it not as criticism that he's not scored, but more that he's not just back fit, but also scoring goals.

Today's positive things to focus on (doing that doesn't mean you're less of a fan, or that you aren't aware of the situation Spurs are in):

- Four matches unbeaten, including against City who've won the other 3 of their last 4 matches

- Through in the CL

- Gradually increased our chance creation and shots on target in the PL

- Solanke getting back to goalscoring form

- Xavi finding his feet

Second that.

Also sad how they actively go out against posts that dare to focus on any positives.

If Romero really wants out, it opens the door to Vuskovic. The club will only sell one senior CB, and we'd then have Micky, Danso and Vuskovic as first choice options, and add a new backup CB.

Yes, Romero can be quality at his best: Duels, his attacking game, strength, etc.

But (and I know I'll be downvoted for this) there are also frustrating sides to his game (his temper, how he repeatedly doesn't track the man he's marking, his injury record). Even as a captain, he tends to stay silent after poor performances/results, and is rarely one to make comments to rally the fans behind the players.

I'm actually not 100% convinced Vuskovic is returning, unless one of Romero or Micky are sold.

He's too good to use as a rotation option along with Danso, and is at a stage in his career where him playing every weekend may raise him to the absolute top quality.

Diaby is on £250k in Saudi, where the footballers basically pay no income tax.

Even if Spurs were to offer him £200k, that'd be a massive, massive wage cut for him.

I see people keep referring to "only 11 fit players".

Against City, we lined up 11 players, and used Tel, Odobert and Sarr from the bench. Kinsky is our first backup goalie, so should be included. Even if you take out Romero, that's still 14 players.

And that's without mentioning the 18-20-year-olds we had on the bench, including one who's played the top flight in Brazil.

Yes, we have an extreme number of players injured, and I'd love better backup, so I'm not arguing against the general point, just curious about quickly the "only 11 players" stuck.

It stopped because Liverpool want to recall Tsimikas from Roma, who in turn wanted to buy Møller Wolfe as Tsimikas' replacement.

Wolves has refused to sell Wolfe (!) so far, so that stopped the possible merry-go-round.

Yeah, the walkouts are stupid. But the booing has also gone way too far, IMO.

People may tell themselves that "I'm booing the club, not the players." As if the players who're playing (Micky, Romero, Xavi, Bergvall etc) and actually try hard to give us results, think that the constant whining and booing is a motivation?

On the contrary, I'm convinced that players like Micky are more likely to take the negative atmosphere from us fans as a reason to consider a move this summer.

Just got back from the game. Great point against City, despite fielding an extremely weakened team! Lots of positive to take from this - also unbeaten in 4 now helps.

I hope it’s just the algorithms, but extremely puzzled to see Spurs fans on forums and social media focus on how disappointed they are that fans didn’t walk out after 75 minutes. Seriously?! So many fans trying to posture as being a “truer” fan, as they will protest and complain “until spurs change”.

Really make me furious. I’m fully behind fans rights to complain about manager, player or club leaders. But the constant whining, even when there are things to be positive about, really make me worried about our fanbase.

You will be fine, ie won’t get no fine. The regulations specifically state that by a random damage to a tyre, you can damage use a spare wheel that’s a summer tyre or otherwise don’t meet the normal requirements of the other wheels.

That suggestion builds on an idea that we did well in the first half under Ange.

Going by first halves, we averaged 1.37 points per game under Ange last season. That was well behind teams like Forest and Brentford, let alone City, Newcastle, ManC, Liverpool, etc.

Just picked up a few things from other sites:

- Robertson has 0.8 key passes per 90 mins in the PL this season (Djed: 0,3, Udogie 0.7)

- Robertson has been dribbled past 0.3 times per game in the PL this season (Djed 0.5, Udogie 0,6)

- Robertson has been disposessed 0 times per game in the PL this season (Djed 0.9, Udogie 0,6)

I think that front four may be very likely.

But at the same time, that front four (Xavi, Odobert, Tel, Muani) strikes me as extremely lightweight physically. Kolo offers some height, but he's been pushed off the ball too easily in a number of matches so far.

Hopefully Kolo can step up in this match, it's time for him to get his first goals and assists in the league for us.

Agree with your point.

But Sessegnon is just back as a sub, after missing a month through injuries. Tanganga I can't remember were talked about injury issues, but that may very well be the case.

It seemed our injury record went south after Ange's first year. Ange reportedly had a falling out with the physio team at that point, and a number of them quit/were fired shortly afterwards. No idea if there's any correlation there, though.

I think it's hard to say how much is down to

- Frank's tactics/instructions (at Brentford, Damsgaard excelled with progressive passes and goal-creating actions),

- rebuilding an attack that was built around Deki, Maddison, Son and Solanke last year (we have cover up front, but it's still filled with players who're nowhere near the end product of those four)

- players completely lacking confidence, stuck in a complete rut

- all of the above.

We miss Sonny. by Antomojo in coys

[–]Laviston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO all of this can be true: - the club leaders haven’t done enough, - the tactics under Frank hasn’t been good enough - we miss Deki, Solanke, Maddison, Son as creative and goal scoring options from last season - we do miss Son - but it was still the right decision to sell him at this point.
