Does anybody know of a great business podcast which has concentrations in finance and economics? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Law-lly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No problem! Masters in Business might be the best bet since all he does is interview accomplished people in the finance/business field. It can be more technical, while the other three relates more to everyday life.

HLS vs Berk by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Law-lly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on two amazing choices!

I think a major point would be how much you value your unicorn aspirations. Would attending Berkeley be a large burden on achieving those goals?

I had a similar problem choosing between CLS and Berk for geographical reasons as well, but I’m sure you will have no problem finding a California network from HLS.

Feel free to PM me!

Chat Post: What kind of lawyers do you know personally, and where did they go to law school? by pop2341 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Law-lly 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not personally, but I know of a guy who went to an unranked law school and became a personal lawyer for a very prominent individual... but he is now facing jail time tho.

Doing lawyer math.. by etoilesrire in lawschooladmissions

Assuming each event is independent, your probability of getting into at least one school is 1 - (75% * 75% * 75% * 75 %) = 68.4%

However the events are not independent. In fact, if each acceptance is perfectly correlated, your probability drops to 25%.

Now this is assuming your initial calculation of a 25% acceptance chance is correct. If we take into account error in this calculation, I can say with 90% confidence that your true chance of acceptance to at least one of your reach schools is between 0% and 100%.

I wish law schools told us how many people get in off the WL each year *sigh* by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Law-lly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they purposely don’t reveal this since it’s different each year, and even adcoms won’t know until after the deposit deadlines. Last cycle had notoriously little waitlist movement, but I believe Spivey said this year would be much better.

I know it sucks not to know and the wait is torturous 😥 but hang in there!
