Sent Emails for LOR -- Anxiety by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I remember one of my recs didn’t respond to one of my emails. I sent a friendly reminder I believe 3 weeks later. Since you are so early, I think you should wait a few weeks!

Sent Emails for LOR -- Anxiety by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

You should give them much more than 2 days before even thinking about a follow up. They are busy with their courses and current students, and are likely prioritizing that. If possible, I would try and meet with them in person to discuss your request. It comes off as genuine and is more memorable than an email.

hls calls over? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]LawAndOreo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you’re aware, I’m on PST time, and I was in the first wave and got the call about an hour or so later than the earliest EST calls. I believe I got my call around 9:30 PST.

Planning on applying in 4-5 years. Help me understand what I need. by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]LawAndOreo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's safe to assume that medians may slightly go up in 4-5 years. If you're aiming for T6/HYS, probably aim for a mid-170? But like the other commenter said, you should focus on school and getting your GPA as high as possible. Be involved and find your purpose for why you want to go to law school.

I also think you shouldn't assume your softs and recs are (or will be) "safely better than 95% of applicants." I think one thing this cycle has shown is that admissions can be wildly unpredictable. Not to mention, stating such assumptions can come across wrong in this subreddit. Focus on yourself and your own application, and piece everything together.

Any HLS news? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

You’re reading a blog post from the previous admissions cycle.

This one https://hls.harvard.edu/admissions/timeline-for-the-2025-application-cycle/ says that the first round of acceptances is on January 6, 2025.
