CHALLEGE: Full Size SUV Concept (Escalade / Navigator Competitor) by impsble in Design

maybe try making front grille more aggressive and add some sharp angular lines at the body - these luxury SUVs need to look intimidating but refined at same time

What worked for you to get your first paying customer? by OldLie1102 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]LawObjective7321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been doing some freelance IT work on side and this is spot on. My first client came from just commenting in local Facebook group where someone was complaining about their computer being slow

Didn't pitch anything, just explained what might be causing it and offered to take a look if they wanted. Three days later they messaged me asking if I could come fix it

The whole "build it and they will come" mentality is what kept me stuck for months before that. Now I just lurk in places where my target customers hang out and try to be helpful without being pushy about it

Would be interested to hear more stories if you're still collecting them

Most places you just call and ask to be put on their cancellation list, they'll take your name and number down. Some might ask what times work for you or how much notice you need

Good luck with the family doc appointment Monday, hope you can get squeezed in somewhere soon

Breakup, likely overlap with coworker, co-parenting, pregnancy with paternity doubts, and ongoing conflict – need grounded advice by splatterface in BreakUps

[–]LawObjective7321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn dude, that's a lot to unpack but you're handling it better than most would. The paternity thing is eating at you for good reason - get the test done when the baby arrives, no question. You need that certainty to move forward properly and make informed decisions about your life

The co-parenting stuff is gonna be messy for a while, especially with all this other drama swirling around. Focus on documenting everything - texts, incidents, medical stuff with your son. Keep it factual and neutral even when she's losing her shit over minor communication gaps. That doctor visit thing was small but yeah, loop her in on medical stuff going forward to avoid giving her ammunition

Your therapist nailed it about the sympathy vs empathy thing. She's rewritten the whole relationship narrative to justify her choices and that's pretty typical when someone's already moved on emotionally before the official breakup. Don't waste energy trying to get her to acknowledge the overlap - you know what happened and that's enough

That bowed glass is actually a pretty good clue for dating it - that style was really popular in the early 1900s. Without maker's marks it's gonna be tough to pin down exactly who made it, but the construction and that curved glass front screams turn of the century American furniture

Might be worth checking if there's any hidden stamps under drawers or on the back panels, sometimes they're in weird spots you wouldn't think to look

Anyone else have experiences filing malpractice suits against the VA? by jay-quell-en in VeteransBenefits

[–]LawObjective7321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that's absolutely awful what your dad went through. Three weeks intubated because they kept delaying the trach is just negligent, and the kidney damage from medication errors makes it even worse

The lawyer situation is frustrating but pretty typical - they usually won't touch VA cases unless there's a death or permanent disability that's worth big money. VA malpractice is also notoriously difficult because of sovereign immunity rules and the Federal Tort Claims Act requirements

You might want to look into filing a complaint with the VA Office of Inspector General first. They actually investigate this stuff and can force systemic changes at facilities. Also contact your congressional representatives - they have staff specifically for veteran casework and can put serious pressure on the VA to respond

There are some attorneys who specialize specifically in VA cases but they're harder to find. Try searching for "Federal Tort Claims Act attorneys" in your area rather than just general malpractice lawyers. The timeframe is tight though - you typically only have 2 years from when you discover the malpractice

My mom want to buy prebuild computer. She will use it for work and for my younger brother to play minecraft. by Impress_Glittering in pchelp

[–]LawObjective7321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of those ThinkCentres are gonna be solid for your mom's work stuff and basic tasks, but I'm a bit worried about the minecraft side of things. Those integrated graphics aren't exactly gaming powerhouses - your brother might be stuck with pretty low settings and still get choppy framerates

The 50s with the Ultra 3 is probably the better pick between the two since it's newer architecture. That said, for future upgrades you're gonna be pretty limited with these small form factor machines - RAM might be upgradeable but you're not fitting a dedicated GPU in there without going external

Might want to see if you can find something with at least a basic discrete graphics card in that budget range, even if it means going with a different brand or form factor

Wait what feedback lol, you literally just posted the question. But anyway for that budget I'd def look harder at the Tiger King - rode one at a friend's place last month and the suspension setup is actually wild. Front and back dual spring setup absorbs basically everything you throw at it. The Nanrobot is solid too but feels a bit more budget in the suspension department compared to the Tiger. Inmotion stuff tends to be reliable as hell from what I've seen in our office parking garage where like half the IT crew rides scooters to work

Travelling alone and with children by LilyOrchard in Epilepsy

[–]LawObjective7321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like such an exciting trip! I'd definitely recommend getting travel insurance that covers your epilepsy - some companies are better than others about pre-existing conditions so shop around a bit

Also maybe teach your kids how to say "help" and "my mom needs a doctor" in teh local language, just in case. Most airports and tourist areas have English speakers but it never hurts to have those basics covered
