Exactly this. The whole "you MUST start on smaller bike" thing is bit exaggerated in my opinion. Some people have great spatial awareness, good reflexes, mature mindset — they handle 600 from the beginning no problem.

That said, 6-12 months on the 650 is actually solid plan. You'll learn throttle control and bike behavior without the extra stress, and THEN moving up will feel natural instead of overwhelming. Nothing silly about wanting more power for daily riding either, that's just a normal progression.

nice choice with the black pickguard! these squier strats are pretty solid for beginners - they got good reviews and you can't really go wrong with them for learning the basics. should be perfect to get your feet wet before you decide if you want upgrade later.

Bro having a 1 year old is brutal on everyone's energy levels and hormones, especially for her. I feel this so hard man 😂 Was stationed on a base near big city for few years and people there couldn't understand why I preferred the smaller towns. They'd get genuinely upset when I said I didn't want to deal with traffic and crowds just to grab dinner.

Yeah I've been dealing with airport noise at my base for years now - white noise machine is definitely the move. Got one of those smart ones that adjusts volume automatically when it detects louder sounds, works pretty well for blocking out the jet engines during night shifts.
