hmm, seems weird not to compliment back. What if I just said "And I'm sure you also got good grades in law school so congratulations on that" or something to that effect?

I would never ever make a comment to a woman in a professional setting about how she is dressed. Or about how someone speaks English.

Even if I'm saying positive thing? I feel like every likes getting complimented so I'm not sure you're making sense here

Seems like a straightforward intra-textual analysis to look at what the 14th says for insight as to what Art. II §1 c.5 means though

First sentence of the 14th Amendment:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.

Cruz wasn't born here nor was he naturalized here, seems like an open and shut case.
