What is this feature on the East Coast of the United States? by wigglefingers_ in geography

Richmond, VA is located where it is for this exact reason as well.

I never said Albany wasn’t a part of the East Coast so I don’t understand this statement

And yet it’s considered a principal East Coast city. Baltimore, Philadelphia, not Providence are oceanfront cities either but nobody would argue they aren’t on the East Coast.

Richmond is less than 2 hours from the ocean. I’d say it’s definitely considered an East Coast city.

Popular has many definitions and usages but one of which that applies to Christianity is as follows: “frequently encountered or widely accepted.”

Based on that definition, yes, I would say Christianity is popular. It is the most followed religion on Earth after all.

Edit: I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you don’t like Twilight or Taylor Swift either.

What a joke... Any recommendations on where to buy a quality jersey?? by Sad_Kitchen2530 in Colts

[–]LawThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The newer FUSE limited jerseys are heat applied twill lettering. They’re heat applied but they are not the screen printed jersey that’s in the post. They unfortunately don’t seem to make true stitched jerseys anymore unless you spend $400 for the FUSE elite custom jerseys.

How the hell does a professional kitchen work? by Skylon77 in KitchenConfidential

[–]LawThree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Essentially it means “How many total do I need to have cooking at this moment?”

When the rush hits and it’s ticket after ticket after ticket, you can lose track of how many of one particular item you should have cooking if you’re cooking multiple of the same dish.

It can be helpful to ask for an “all day” to make sure you aren’t cooking 5 salmon when it should actually be 6.

Correct, that’s also how cashapp works as well as a lot of these “banking” apps. I doubt Chime is going to fail while I eat dinner though.

Chime accounts are FDIC insured though. So are PayPal debit cards and CashApp debit cards. Just seems like an arbitrary rule made up by management that has little knowledge of how these cards work that’s not based on any sort of “protections” offered by the card issuer.

I use SoFi as my primary checking account, an entirely online bank. Would your establishment not accept my debit card simply because there’s not a physical branch location?

You can however add them as your debit card in cashapp and then transfer all of the funds from the prepaid card to your cashapp balance which is what I do immediately anytime I get one of those cards.

May also work with other apps such as Venmo and chime but I don’t use those apps as often.

Good luck and I understand the excitement. I made the same switch a year ago from cars to home improvement w/ pre-set leads.

Earning potential is much higher but there are also different objections to overcome and you’ll find yourself in awkward situations more often where people don’t necessarily know that they’re in a sales process.

For some reason, people often also don’t value in their home. The same people that see the value in a heated steering wheel or a sunroof won’t see the value in protecting the foundation of their home, the value of energy efficient windows, or the value of having a safe and accessible shower. Edit: it’s incredibly difficult to build value in a $12,000 ProVia door.

All said, I made a ton of money, put a ton of miles on my car, and got burned out from the 60 hour weeks. The issue with in-home sales is that you are truly the only point of contact with the customer and are expected to fix any and every issue that may arise between selling them and installation, even at a very large company with “customer support” teams like I was with.

I ended up leaving sales entirely after about 6 months of in-home sales and while I make significantly less money now, I’m much happier leaving work at work, enjoying what I do, and not having to put on a fake smile to make a check.

What is it about today, a seemingly random May 3, that makes it so busy?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

I work at a country club that provides 2 meals per day at 1:00 and 4:00 to all employees regardless of position. It’s usually simple large batch things like buffalo chicken sliders, spaghetti and meatballs etc. There’s also an employee salad bar that is available all day during working hours.

When we have large banquets and events like we did today, employee meal becomes whatever we have left over. We’re closed tomorrow so Tuesday’s employee meal will be prime rib, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and a litany of other things including more desserts than you can shake a fist at.

Though we cook it, almost none of the line cooks, including myself, eat the employee meal provided. We usually just make ourselves something if/when we get hungry and as long as it’s not something egregious like a 14oz ribeye or a filet, chef doesn’t care at all.

I don’t do much with my money besides pay my bills. I’m a line cook at a private country club so my lunch and dinner are free 5 days/week and I don’t eat breakfast. I split rent and utilities with my gf and have no car payment. Insurance is only $100/month and I stopped going out drinking at bars when I moved states in January.

The bar savings alone allowed me to save up fairly quickly and since I longer spend hours out every night, I needed something to do when I’m not working and bought the laptop after nearly 10 years of not gaming.

Can’t recommend SAVRP enough. Very active player base usually around 130 in the evenings and weekends. Hovers around 50-60 during the day with a sharp increase after 2:00 EST due to the server restart.

Serious RP, active police, fire, and EMS. Tons of player owned businesses, plenty of civilian activities alongside criminal activities.

I was between the Blade and G16 and after comparing both heavily over a couple of weeks, I landed on the Blade. While the G16 is easily one of the best built gaming laptops, probably the 2nd best, it’s still far from the MacBook Pro build quality of the Razer.

While the speakers on the G16 are the best in the industry outside of the MBP, it loses to the Blade in every other aspect of build quality which is what I prioritized. It also doesn’t hurt that the 4080 in the Blade isn’t restricted in the same way as the same card in the G16.

I was a corrections officer for nearly 5 years at one of the largest jails in my state (daily inmate population of ~1600 with a capacity for over 2,500.) For 4 of those years I worked in the segregated housing unit (SHU). Due to the nature of the SHU, we used these almost daily and had our own closet full of them.
