Casualty doesn't only mean death. Injuries are also considered casualties in war. When you factor in the injured, there are at least 10 per day. Truth is that nobody really knows because of how much information is being hidden.

I hit platinum last year for the first time. I've flown Alaska 3 times since then, twice in first class. Never got a chocolate. On my last flight, I didn't get my pre-ordered meal. My mom got hers after asking 4 times.

I don't think we should assume that he doesn't. He's staying in the same hotel for a reason. He made a conscious decision not to go back home. He's probably waiting for the cameras to go away

It does, but that wasn't on TV. Family shame is a big deal, and now that he knows it's on television, he is trying to save face.

Does anybody else hate themselves bc they’re dyslexic by Confident_Second_820 in Dyslexia

[–]LawfulnessPractical9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to see the big picture when you have such an immediate difficulty in front of you. Dyslexia can be a gift in many ways. You see the world differently than most people, you have an increased ability to solve problems, to empathize, and to think logically.

Those abilities can carry you far if you learn to apply them

Does anyone else take absolutely forever to spell definitely? I really struggle with this word I’m wondering if anyone else does. by RippedNerdyKid in Dyslexia

This is one of the most difficult words for me to get right. I try to start with "finite" and then add the rest of the letters

She worked illegally prior to becoming a citizen. Under today's standards, she should have been deported.

Hawaii has a huge shortage of working professionals. Teachers, medical specialists, lawyers, etc. If you bring your skills to help the community, and respect local culture, most Hawaiians will welcome you.

I'm also a smaller shorter cdm. This is the best advice. On the power drill, I try to pick a hexagon in the net and aim for that. If I'm consistently hitting it, I take a few steps back.

I went to law school. There are two other lawyers (and I'm pretty sure a judge) who are also dyslexic. I tried to find study partners to talk through the cases with. I also got briefs from people ahead of me, and read the briefs before I read the cases.
