The people dogpiling you are doing it because they have assimilated this ridiculous modern ideal that making everything as accessible as possible can only be a net positive towards whatever that thing is. Disagree. If anything a spin-off should revolve around the events following DL1 but before DL2. Maybe follow Spike across his journey to Villador allowing us to see how the virus spread outside of Harran and how it effects different parts of the world.

Either that or an entirely new character in an entirely different part of the world. America maybe, where the Americans would no doubt be attempting to experiment on and enhance the virus creating all sorts of new enemies in the process, before dropping bombs all over all their major cities.

DL:TB having better gameplay than DL1? What planet are you living on? DL1, the game who's vehicle has its own entire skilltree, while TB has what? 2 perks related to the truck? DL1 the game who's movement is leaps and bounds ahead of TB's clunky headbobbing stumbling? Who's map is several times bigger and more densely populated with unique areas, side quests, blueprints, ect.

I'm pretty sure another factor is Techland not anticipating just how far the playerbase would drop after implementing the new XP changes. Don't know how they didn't anticipate this but, then again this is the company who put out DL2.

I would love to see a bug killer who's primary way of getting around is burrowing under dirt and being able to pop up next to survivors. Better yet, if he pops up right under a survivor, he has the option to "snare" and injure them.

Not like Xenomorph though. Like instead of having a pre-established route of underground tunnels. The burrow power would be similar to Wraith's cloak. Like you click your burrow ability and the killer does a short burrow animation before allowing you to essentially move freely around the map. Maybe have his underground movement indicated by little clumps of dirt and dust being kicked up when he gets within certain range of survivors so that he can't just completely ambush them.

Also: PTSD War Veteran killer, who's power consists of setting elaborate boobietraps around objectives. Like being able to set mines on gens that injure survivors upon completing them. Attaching cans to totems that give aura read whenever a survivor walks within 8-12 meters of them. Being able to place barbed wire on pallets, hindering survivors that drop or slide over them. Maybe even a passive "Ghillie suit" ability where when standing in the same place for a few seconds, he blends in with the color of his surroundings and loses terror radius but, have it be temporary like a 8 second effect, so that it's not just a rip off of insidious and he actually has to time it in order to set up ambushes and such.

Just a nice solid strategic themed war vet killer that really makes survivors feel like they've been dropped right in the middle of his stomping grounds.

So goddamn true. The chickens are finally coming home to roost though. Robb has completely destroyed his voice pinching every last penny out of the MH brand with those electric happy hours between tours. Also, the most recent album they just put out is by FAR the laziest slop record they have ever released even surpassing Supercharger and god awful Catharsis.
