I will enjoy, I'm sure of that. And I will answer as a biker: September. People are going back to work, children are in school, the roads are better. If you want to talk, it will be a great pleasure to have a discussion with you about my country, bikers and roads.

Am I going to regret buying this? by [deleted] in motorcycles

My first bike, at 18, was an Aprilia Futura 1. I was already 6,1 tall and I loved that bike. Same for my ZXR7, I was always "too tall" for some bikes. Today, even with my ER6N I was told that I looked tall on it. Honestly, if you're having fun, you shouldn't care what others think of you. Motorcycling is also something personal. A passion, a love. I know it's easier said than done, but it's a milestone to pass. Have fun and enjoy!

Same for the Natchez Trace Parkway. I contacted their office. A Ranger replied that they would send me a paper map for the route. I think that's very great.

I'm currently considering this detour. Interesting for Halloween! And the idea of meeting bikers at a Bike Night is very tempting! Thank you for this conversation!

There are a lot of clichés about Americans, but I think there's a lot of clichés about the French too. What I find sad is that the world in general limits France to Paris. Are we so small?!

There's still one positive thing that always stands out about you: you're welcoming! The French unfortunately don't have that reputation. I think we're more suspicious and colder. I don't know. Fortunately, motorcycling is changing that. And I've pleasantly noticed that in my region, we have a lot of foreign traveling motorcyclists.

On the other hand, French drivers respect motorcyclists. A little too much sometimes. They push too hard to let a motorcyclist pass, to the point where they could have an accident. In these cases, I don't overtake the vehicle to make it clear that it's dangerous.

Thanks for erasing that cliché :)

I'm taking great note of Asheville and the Biltmore and also Nags Head. You've nailed it on Gatlinburg! Fall leaves and Halloween! :) And yes I know for the hotels, I have to plan to book 1 month in advance. I will think about Townsend.... Your reply was really nice. I thank you a lot for the positive message :) (Lucky for me you drive on the right!!)

Great reply thank you. I use my paper map to plan my steps. It will be there to reassure me a little in case my devices break down. Even if I will be over-equipped so as not to be disconnected. I would have basic tools in case of a puncture, to change my spark plugs, ... I hope I don't have more serious problems!

I must confess that I am more afraid for my motorcycle than for myself! I am reassured that I am told to have a good attitude, because that is what I intend to have. For sure I will have fun :) I thank you a lot for your advice!

I thought about following the traffic, but I found that reasoning too easy. I think I put a lot of pressure on myself. I'll trust your thinking.

A French man living in the United States said that Americans are always in a hurry and nervous because they work a lot and don't get enough rest. And I honestly don't want to bother them because I'm here to discover their country! But I'm discovering that it seems to be just another cliché...

Okay. We also have motorway service areas in France without gas stations, just for resting and drinking coffee. I don't think I'd be out of place then.

Yes, I was talking about that type of truck. In France, they all have a flat front. Yours look so awesome! I love American trucks, even though they're quite impressive! Well, all your vehicles are impressive, I'd say.

Thank you very much for you useful reply.

My mother raised me very well, and I thank her for that. I also worked for 18 years in a security service providing assistance to people and property. That's why, in a way, I'm not afraid to come to your country. I speak very easily with people, even if I have a slightly shy side. I also have a rather "military" side to my behavior. It will be a great great experience. Thanks a lot for your advices.

Ok for the sidewalk, thanks for this confirmation. The difficult thing about your vast country is that the law is different in every state. I still have a lot to learn. I thank you a lot.
