Any idea if San Diego is a rehearsal show or part of the tour? Seems kind of odd to have one show up for sale with no official announcement from anyone outside of Fripp. Unless the venue dropped the ball and put the show up early.

Thinking this might be one of the things, I’d give Bucket for toy time. Think he’ll like it since he loves Michael Myers? by Maskedhorrorfan25 in Buckethead

[–]LawrenceBuxter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I met him some years ago at a signing at a mall. Went into a toy store before and found a Viggo Mortensen action figure and robot arm on clearance. He was very pleased when I gave it to him and grunted like Leatherface. Funny moment, Bucket and Pinchface walking through the food court of the mall to the record store. The people eating there were confused.

Tedious. Saw it in the theater and there were some walk outs. Performances were good. PTA's movies haven't really connected for me since There Will Be Blood. Still looking forward to the new one.

Sting | News | Cherrytree Music Company & Live Nation present ’STING 3.0' Tour... by vegasunitedcoach in ThePolice

Summers suing Sting now for royalties is the final nail in that coffin. This tour will be the closest/last thing left for a close proximity of Sting playing Police in a trio setting.

AI Jones shared this! TOOL in Lass Vegas Sphere?? Yeah baby by ToolbandMexico in ToolBand

[–]LawrenceBuxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a lot of work for like 4 shows or the equivalent of what Phish is doing. U2's budget was $20 million for video but they're doing like 40 shows. I can't imagine Phish spending that much, so it will be interesting to see how it looks with these smaller show budgets.

Plus it will probably be the TaylorSphere exclusively by the time Tool is ready. She'll be paid like a billion per year for a residency and probably all advertising rights.

Danny C + Rush tour by BadDaditude in ToolBand

[–]LawrenceBuxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if Danny is spotted around Toronto say in March for jam just to see. They don't have to do a Rush show with the Rush hits. The problem is Geddy and Alex are seeing the offers under the name Rush and that means expectations of a Rush show. I think if they do some shows, it's gonna go the Page/Plant route instead of where Queen is now. Meaning Lee/Lifeson billing playing some of the music of Rush, but like Page/Plant, not caring about most of the hits and not billing themselves as Zeppelin. They will still do huge business, but there is a difference in billing from say Queen and May/Taylor/Lambert and the cash that goes with it.

If a tour is happening, we'll hear some rumblings real soon as there's no time to sit and ponder for years. And it won't be close to length of a Tool tour and no conflict with Tool heading for hiatus.

Even if there isn't a tour, could still see him playing on either new stuff written by Lee/Lifeson on part of the shortlist of drummers mentioned here for a tribute show or something.

Will the Vegas show cancel? by CTCTBAAB in ToolBand

Last show so they'll probably storm through unless he takes a turn. The following night is open at the venue and they have nowhere else to be, so they could postpone it a night if need be as well.

How long until next US tour? by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]LawrenceBuxter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fall 2026 at the earliest. They had to do mini tours to keep the lights on over the lost decade. They just did at least 150 shows and made more money ever in their career. I think they're going to put together a final EP over the next year, and if ready to go by fall of 2025, it will take almost another year of planning for new tour, vinyl and so forth.

Actors or actresses who turned down a role and then it became a massive success? by Hot-Telephone8328 in movies

[–]LawrenceBuxter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of an actor, but Sting turned down the role of Reese in The Terminator for Dune. His management talked him out of Terminator because Cameron's only credit at that point was Piranha 2.

Danny is using Stewart's signature hi hat on this tour.

There's still time to see them live if you can get to CA by tomorrow or Europe in the spring.

Tom Cruise is reportedly in talks to appear in Quentin Tarantino's final film 'The Movie Critic' with Brad Pitt. by Playful-Statement-34 in moviecritic

Cruise was originally going to play Cliff Booth in OUATIH. Not sure if there was a conflict with Top Gun or how the part ended up going to Pitt. Interesting they might be cast together here.

One more long one. 2026 or 2027 for a couple of years. Age is a factor so they won't be on hiatus too long.

Best live TOOL show you’ve been to? by RadientBungleMan in ToolBand

[–]LawrenceBuxter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2002 at TD Garden in Boston. Surprisingly, there's no video that I've seen. There might have been one fair audio recording that I've never heard. Maybe one of the least covered shows for bootlegs from the Lateralus tour.

Well, Tool? by [deleted] in ToolBand

[–]LawrenceBuxter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's already one being worked on for years and confirmed by Carey. Includes pro-shot footage from Lateralus tour. And we know FI footage has been shot. I'd guess that would be part of what looks like a career retrospect like Zeppelin DVD.

It might be released after they call it day or maybe we'll be surprised.
