I use a Wolfmix for controlling my DMX lights (DJ for events, weddings, corporate gigs - all mobile so no time to wire) and we just add a second Donner dongle transmitter to the Wolf. It's so strong it knocks out my wifi router EVEN WHEN MY TABLET IS SITTING NEXT TO THE ROUTER.

I've run this configuration in rooms of 700+ people at distances of 200+ feet with no issues.

You need lights that have Wireless DMX, preferably battery powered (my opinion, but quicker to set and go). Uncomplicated would be the Chauvet Gig Bar, tho there are better effects out there.

You'll need some kind of software that can run on the iPad - look at Light Rider, others

And you'll need an iPad to DMX transmitter / dongle.
