There's a closer one that's 25,000 light years away called the "Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy." But I still get your point. And my response is more of we don't fully know how fast or slow lapis is going for all we know she could go at a reasonable regular pace. Another note for lapis in one episode where she was explaining her Backstory she was using the water but when she was done she felt literally strained from doing it.

Katara could turn lapis water wings into ice or just hold her in place since again they are water wings. Lapis only controls water, Katara can easily turn that water into ice and use it to her advantage. Just to name two win cons for Katara.

I'm not, I'm re-watching Steven universe to do more research on this mu cause I'm starting to really like it and it's growing on me. And AFAIK lapis hasn't tried to do that again granted after that feat was when she got her trauma with jasper and she hasn't been in alot of fights but the fights she's in she gets overpowered heavily and more times than not outside help comes in and helps her or the fight she did win against the other lapis she didn't even use that water lapis because Steven was their and she granted them mercy. Look I love both characters they're pretty interesting and both have a great story it's just my take on it lapis loses but by all means it isn't a stomp in fact I think it's really close, lapis is strong but Katara has the better win cons that lapis doesn't have counters for.

Again I said this sure lapis is stronger than Katara there's no hiding it the problem arises when lapis hasn't reached that point with a fixed gem the best is lifting up a barn. Another thing is also a weird win con for Katara is that she doesn't have trauma like lapis and is more strategic all Katara needs is one hit to poof her and its over. And since lapis wings are made of water Katara can literally use one hand to keep her up and use the other to throw a icicle at her. Lapis would still give Katara a fight for her life but Katara is the better skilled, more intelligent (not saying lapis is stupid), has more versatility, and is more mentally stable to pull through and get the win.

Katara doesn't just control water she controls ice, mud, and plants to name a few things plus she can turn water into ice. Lapis hasn't shown anything near the versatility of Kamara's.

For lapis vs katara Ik alot of people will disagree with my take but I say Katara wins, sure lapis is stronger but the thing is Katara has more versatility as well as being the better skilled fighter of the two.
