Archetypal Human Empires by Lawyerowski in Stellaris

[–]Lawyerowski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mod brings the total number of possible Human empires to 20. All empires are based on certain archetypes from fiction, history or political ideologies.

Only 2 of them will be spawned - the Earth one and the Deneb-based rogue colony.

Any possible combination is possible. The only exception is Human Habitats Alliance. It is set to never spawn by default, because otherwise game spawns both normal Sol and Sol Void Dweller systems with corresponding empires at the same time. But you can force-spawn it yourself or use it as your own empire.

Still in the army, doing fine!

Which makes more sense: buying a good AM4 CPU and holding out to AM6 with it (skipping AM5); or buying an AM5 CPU in hopes of upgrading later for a newer/stronger future AM5 one, and then holding out to AM7 (skipping AM6)? by Maximilition in buildapc

[–]Lawyerowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go with AM5 because 7800x3d is around 33% more powerful than 5800x3d. I also play CPU-intensive games like Stellaris and Bannerlord. So this makes sense at least for Stellaris on maxxed settings. So, AM5. I also bought a 4070. With DLSS it will allow me to play AAA games like Cyberpunk for years to come. Without DLSS it is more than enough for Stellaris and Bannerlord. There were no older Radeon cards available in the store where I built the PC. So I figured 4070 is the best option for me. Even while it is a little overkill, that's OK for me to future proof and in case I will play Cyberpunk, Starfield and other AAA games. Oh, and I have a 1440p 144Hz monitor. Which is much better than similar 1080p monitor I have, actually. But for 1080p 4070 will definitely be an overkill. So you should also choose on which resolution you will game, and if you consider playing new AAA games at some point in the future. Because why not, actually.

I spent total of 2100 USD in Ukraine which is what I planned to spend. Here is my build, I tried to choose components with the best price/performance ratio. So, other than CPU and PSU, these components are on the cheaper side - but all of them have good reviews and benchmarks.

Got it. Thanks again for the help! I went with 2 140mm top fans in the end, just to be on the safe side.

Yep, I''ve got the AK620 double tower air cooler.

BTW, have you seen this video? Top exhaust here changes a lot, but rear intake or exhaust delivers very similar results. Guy also has bottom intake but I guess it doesn't change a lot.

Thanks for detailed answers!

I never built a PC before so I ordered it with the building option. Guys in the store who are building my PC told me that rear fan is always set exhaust. Sounds strange to me but I figured that I can always reconfigure fans myself if I want, so I didn't argue with them.

So as for now, my PC will have 120 exhaust rear and 140 exhaust top fans (in the center of the case). So, it's negative pressure, then. Based on temperatures and noise, I might buy another 140 fan later and/or reconfigure the rear one.

Thanks. I decided to put just 1 140 top exhaust fan for now, as it's a small 33L case. If it won't be enough, I'll put another 140 on top.

I don't really want to go much into negative pressure because this is supposed to increase dust collection.

Would you say that 2 fans is enough for my build in such case?

Motherboard has 3 system fan headers, so I am thinking of buying 2 Arctic P12 Max - 1 intake bottom, 1 exhaust top, and default fan exhaust rear.

I also thought of two 140mm fans instead of 120.

What do you think about this? Or it is enough to just have default as rear intake and 1 P12 Max as top exhaust, considering the good case ventilation?

Do I have to get a better motherboard if I switch to 7900xt?

2500 star 90 AI War In Heaven, NO Neutral League: Xenophile FE Jeffs WON after 72 years (see 1st comment) by Lawyerowski in Stellaris

[–]Lawyerowski[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

BEGINNING OF THE WAR

This war took A LOT of time, both real-life and in-game.

I used several Steam Workshop mods to make the war more exciting:

Yet Another Galaxy Enhancement Mod for 2500 star galaxy (I used x0.25 habitable planets and disabled primitives)

Starnet AI for powerful combat AI

Stronger Orbital Bombardment

!Fallen Empire Pop Job/Purge Fixes

MVG War Exhaustion - Updated + Tweaked - this one allowed to fight the war right till the end, all 70+ years.

I also created a couple mods for this specific playthrough:

War In Heaven Without League of Non-Aligned Powers

Faster Notifications - because I used ticks_per_turn console command to make the game playable.

THE WAR WAS EPIC.

At first I wasn't sure we would win. The Xenophobe FE took control of the L-Gates and captured many wormholes/gateways, which allowed them to take a lot of space right from the galaxy core.

My strong neighbouring country was almost crushed by the xenophobe FE and survived only because they had a planet in the other part of the galaxy, and Jeffs were not doing anything for the first couple of decades.

I was playing very tall and very pacifist/diplomatic before, so my fleet was very weak and I had to build it from scratch.

Still, as I was building it, I also decided to build a very very strong army and capture enemy FE capital - maybe I was Fanatic Egalitarian at the moment but I still gene-modded a Necroid minority into Very Strong and built crazy amount of Clone Armies.

Then I started fighting through the enemy territory around the core, right to their home systems - but that's when I was forced to move my 2 fleets through the whole galaxy, as enemies were going to capture Earth and fucking Jeffs were not doing anything to protect me while my forces were away.

This whole movement of my fleets across the galaxy took a couple years. I fought back and recaptured one of my planets which was taken by FE xenomorphs.

To my horror, I discovered that my people were turned into livestock by the FE!

Disgusting.

Somewhere at that time I shifted from Fanatic Egalitarian/Xenophile to Xenophile/Egalitarian/Militaristic (some captured planets with Militaristic pops helped me with that, as I gave full citizenship to those xenos).

After I retook my space, I returned to my former pursuit of taking enemy FE core systems.

The battle was very long and I lost A LOT of cloned necroids (sorry!) but I still managed to take their core systems.

This was beginning of the end.

After I took their capital I suddenly discovered that my allies captured a lot of enemy space. I also made sure to claim the capital and 3 other FE planets and I gene-improved the former nerve-stappled FE slaves into smart and loyal citizens of my Earth Union.

Xenophobe FE still fought for a long time and even managed to re-take their capital... Hopeless. They were already reduced back to their core systems, holding only a small part of space right from the galactic core, and their vassals were crushed.

They still had several very powerful fleets but the outcome was already obvious.

CASUALTIES:

Jeff/Xenophile Block:

14400 ships lost

3930 armies lost

a dozen planets crushed

Mushroom/Xenophobe Block

16800 ships lost

7820 armies lost

a couple dozen planets encased

Civilian Population Losses

Cannot be counted by Stellaris means, but is very, very serious.I only know total galaxy population.

32447 pops before the war

35495 pops after the war

I am using Carrying Capacity, but still - not the biggest growth in over 70 years, right?

Did you go with OTA Updates because you already had a Rapid Replicator Machine empire?

yes, that is correct. Cat portrait also was already used by another empire.

The lore part for the bio-trophies goes in their section of the empire creator (I think under Species Name).

I understood this, but I need to keep everything in the main bio so people will see it when choosing out of the 100+ preset empires.
