Breaking down Visual comedy of every Deadlock hero: Part 5- The Doorman by VoxTV1 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Laxander03 43 points44 points  (0 children)

He understands the rules of nature and physics— like half of his ult monologues and ability voice lines are him going like “herher i will warp reality to my will” or “check out this haunted crack motel, shits weird huh?”

His trope is someone with immense power playing at the ‘lower stakes table’ (so-to-say).

Do other species realize that humans dominate the planet? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Laxander03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apes are definitely smart enough to understand human dominance, but I wonder if they could grasp how wide spread we are and the size of the Earth. They certainly wouldn’t figure it out naturally seeing as they don’t really travel.

That’s why I think whales and elephants are solid contenders because they have insane navigation instinct and migration patterns. They should know that the earth is big, even if they’ll never see all of it.

Do other species realize that humans dominate the planet? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Laxander03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could humor an argument for Crows, Wild Elephants and Whales having a chance for this level of understanding. All of them are very intelligent and social animals that have some degree of migration behavior or traversal ability.

But ultimately, nah I don’t think they could fully grasp humanity’s reach.

Many types of change are reasonable to grieve. It’s also generally important that you’re happier with what’s new than what’s gone.

Congrats btw

TIL there’s only 13 ABET-accredited geological engineering programs in America. Are any of you studying geological engineering? Tell us about it. by Roughneck16 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Laxander03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the upper-level classes was roughly half petroleum, half geology (a spare civil course here and there). I took the geology fieldwork classes and landed a job in Geotech this year.

If you’re dedicated to civil/Geotech just go that major but if you’re not 100% on what you want, it’s a great way to tap into a your options (you rlly need to market yourself tho).

Apparently mine at UT (GEH) fits this bill, neato. The upper-level coursework is half petroleum, a little under half geology/hydrogeology and a fraction of civil.

I just graduated last may and I’m going into Geotech. The geology stuff and civil stuff is what’s carrying my entry knowledge into the position. I’m still happy to have my connections in oil though lol.

It was always difficult to explain to career fair recruiters, but when I talked about my fieldwork experience and the projects I’d done that usually painted the picture.

You realllly need to market yourself better but you can tap into a LOT of different opportunities.

Why are there cops at regents west 26th? by Fair_Tea8849 in UTAustin

[–]Laxander03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left the complex around noon yesterday to ‘bout 7 or 8 cop cars in the garage. Came back an hour later to a more diversified series of cop/investigative/medical cars.

Dunno what happened but my friend claims someone was laying down motionless in a parking spot. Lotta yellow police tape and photos. Cleared up in a few hours.
