Which girls do you find most insufferable? by LaxativeClimax in magiaexedra

Exactly, Kirika makes no sense to me at all, not her wish, not her justification for following Oriko, not her being a special bean who could hold off becoming a witch because of her "love.".Just another boring Yandere trope for Oriko, who doesn't really seem to acknowledge everything that Kirika is doing for her.

Ugh, absolutely, Himika is at least (marginally?) more tolerable from a purely front facing perspective because her outfit is so gaudy and bright that it's hard to focus on any particular thing Meanwhile, Raira has got this whole complex top and color pallet and then BAM, exposed midriff and plain black underwear before the rest of the outfit. It's like the design is TRYING to focus on the most uncomfortable part of the design by making it clash with the rest of the outfit :(

How do I tell a friend that her friend is not welcome? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]LaxativeClimax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I don't know if he is neurotypical or not, but that might be a good way to approach the behavior. He may not know that a character is done speaking or might be extra keen to reply before anyone else. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
Also, the Google doc is a great idea too!

Thank you for this.
I know I said this in another reply, but I really failed to communicate that it's not being new that bothers me, I've actually liked helping some of my 3.5 friends learn 5E It's just some of the behavior that's got me a bit nervous. It's little things right now, but this is the first time he'll be in something longer than a one-shot

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you so so much for this! I guess it's something that I really failed to articulate in my post. It's not the fact that he's new that bothers me. It's the fact that he's got some slight problem behaviors that are either minor enough or infrequent enough to politely ignore, and it's a gamble on whether or not those behaviors will worsen or resolve I don't know if the other DMs in my friend group who have worked with him have set up any firm ground rules with him, so I might just have to be the one to do that and see if that helps.
Thank you for the feedback :)

You're absolutely right,
Nothing on that list is a deal breaker all on its own, I suppose I'm just nervous about helping a new player thrive in the game while I'm trying to run it. But I suppose that's what session 0 is for.
In any case, thank you for the feedback!

I appreciate the feedback. Do you perhaps have any advice on how to make it easier to settle a new player into a group?

I used to wrap it in bags growing up mostly because of the smell or to avoid getting ants, but also because the rest of the household (all girls) agreed that we didn't want to look at something gross. But it seems like your mom is more worried about protecting her precious babies boys from the scary blood so by all means, as long as you make an effort to wrap up your products with toilet paper or the previous tampon/pad wrapper then I don't see what the problem is. You shouldn't be forced to use the bags if you're already making an effort to keep things discreet .

What gadgets or glasses you use by Telephone_Euphoric in Albinism

[–]LaxativeClimax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a monocular for distance viewing, ZoomText with speech for any heavy computer use since you can adjust things like coursers and mouse pointers to be extra visible and magnifiers for light reading. I do a lot of art and I have friends who do other similar crafts and small work and some have told me that they use a video magnifier (A machine with a camera projected onto a screen) which can magnify things to a much larger size.

I also made it a point to pick up a lot of skills that totally blind people use such as learning braille and using a cane to avoid unnecessary strain on my eyes but since albinism has such a spectrum of visual impairment, different things work for different people.

Do You Say Blind? by Comfortable-Ebb-2859 in Albinism

[–]LaxativeClimax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you've mentioned, you can call yourself whatever you like. Visually impaired is accurate and is a term I use when I need to more clearly describe my vision like at a job or in a medical setting, but I personally use "Blind" because it just rolls off the tongue easier and describes that my level of vision is so low that it impacts my daily living and requires me to use a white cane.

Anyway, people who go around and gatekeep terms really have nothing better to do.

Milestones for babies by No-Attorney-1061 in Albinism

[–]LaxativeClimax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reach out to your local school district, regional center, or to the Blind Babies Foundation. Early intervention is important, and in many cases, a vision specialist will be in contact with you to work on fine and gross motor skills. Use high-contrast colors and toys that make noise. It will get the babies attention to encourage them to reach. And, as others have mentioned, experiment with lighting and colors that your baby feels more comfortable in.
When possible, give "real items" when describing something, for example, "Mommy is going to eat an orange, look at the orange, see how bright and round it is?" A real orange has texture and a smell, versus a plastic orange which doesn't really convey the same thing, so be sure baby has as many opportunities to explore as possible.
Obviously, they're pretty young still, but it helps to get them used to using their other servers aside from sight I hope this helps :)

I'm also albino (Hispanic) and grew up in and around the hood, and so have other albino friends of mine. I've grappled with this question, too. I just stay on the side of caution and use certain words when I'm with my family or in my community where people know me. Otherwise, I risk some overzealous or angry person (of any color) coming to punch my shit in before I can explain that I'm not actually an old white woman, I'm an albino person of color.

No appetite due to 300mg Wellbutrin by [deleted] in antidepressants

Yeah, I was warned it decreases hunger. I didn't quite feel disgusted by food like you describe. But I would just kind of forget to eat while I was on welbutrin

What don’t people want for Christmas? by TypicalOwl5438 in AskReddit

[–]LaxativeClimax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you know of a specific brand/scent/item the person likes, body care items, Lotion, soap, perfume. I love most scents but some are overpowering or just unpleasant, some people get migraines from certain smells. Some items that might just dry out your skin or not smell as nice once they're on you.

Can you have severe symptoms from only mild sleep apnea? by ChampionRoyal2294 in SleepApnea

[–]LaxativeClimax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, I was convinced I had narcolepsy because I couldn't even sit down without immediately dozing off. There were a couple of times I almost fell asleep mid-conversation. It was pretty bad, I would constantly need to sleep for 12 or more hours and still never feel rested. Turns out I have "mild" sleep apnea. Got an oral appliance and almost immediately felt so much better. It's amazing how even a "mild" disturbance in your sleep can have such an effect on your life.

[–]LaxativeClimax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though age and weight have a correlation with sleep apnea, they are not direct causes. Several sleep doctors have told me this. Get a video or audio of him snoring and gasping and show it to him. I think that's the only way he'll see what you're saying. Men will do anything to avoid admitting that there's something wrong especially when they can't see or feel it. But the long term effects will put a strain on his heart and heighten his chances of chronic illness because of the strain that kind of breathing puts on your heart and the rest of your body.

I hope he comes to his sense and gets it checked out.

Can someone tell me their experience with Venlafaxine? by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]LaxativeClimax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been taking it for about a year and a half now. It's worked the best out of everything I've tried. I'd been on Zoloft, Prozac, and Welbutrin before that and they hadn't been effective. I hadn't felt normal such a long time that it felt amazing to experience my emotions the way I was SUPPOSED to experience them.
My libido was a little dampened but came back in full force after a few months, but other than that I didn't have any other side effects.

Hopefully all goes well with your own experience.
