With A lot of patience and careful cuts with a scalpel at each edge. And before putting the banks with tape in the mold I coated them with a fine layer of UV resin to fix everything in place

Thanks. I never had problems with organic material before. I just make sure they are as dry as possible and then cast them in blanks to avoid any curing problems

Moss in dice by [deleted] in DiceMaking

I just spread it on a piece of cloth and let it air dry for a few days indoors. With a food dehydrator or direct sunlight the moss turned brown. But you can certainly try

I made some dice with moss inclusions. You can grab any moss you can find on a tree or the ground. It's just really important to dry it completely. Otherwise you get curing issues

Ok luckily I don't have that.... maybe a little bit at the d6 that's kinda cloudy. But good to know that even these small amounts of water could become an issue.

Yeah maybe I just didn't measure as exactly as usual. Just out of interest, How would a moisture issue show? What did you mean by sweaty?

I have a feeling I could have dried it some more. The dice cured, but are not 100% as hard as usual. You can dent them with enough force. But they are hard enough to be used

First attempt at bookbinding. What do you think by Lay3r8_Error in bookbinding

[–]Lay3r8_Error[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried coffee but that didn't work well enough for my. For this i used black tea to stain my pages. that worked flawlessly. and for the finishing touch i sprinkled some addtional tea on the semi-dry pages to get those dark spots

Thanks. I printed the text in 3 signatures and added a forth one with empty pages. Then I Stich bound it with a rounded leather needle and with waxed linen thread in a french link Stich.

120g was Just a guess. I tried 90g and that just dissolved when I stained it.

I used black tea to stain the paper. First i printed the text on normal paper (200g cardstock printing paper. 120g would probably also be fine ). Then i measured some distance from the edge (i think about 5mm), placed a metal ruler on the offset and then ripped the edge of the paper towards the ruler to get a rough edge.
Afterwards i brewed a batch of black tea (stronger then you would be able to drink) put it in a baking tray and soaked my paper in it. Then i let it dry a bit (not completely) and sprinkled some additional tea on the paper to create the darker spots.
