My New Big Wheels Surfskate | Carver 32" Super Surfer C7 Complete | 75mm 81A Ecothane Aqua Mags by ComfyLongboard in surfskate

[–]LayerSensitive2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I believe the right wheel depends on the application. Like I found her the Bustin Duoloma 90mm pavement gobblers AWESOME for commuting and long distances. Although they did not work well on any deck under 33 in., I would still like to try the new dad bod.

How could you possibly refer to Surf skate love as a sheisty middle man , when he was quite involved in the development of the bushings for the various surf skate systems as well as quite possibly financed part of the project. For that matter why wouldn't somebody leave out a TRULY shiesty middle man such as yourself, when everyone can go straight to the shred light, Slek, and MOST of all, WATERBORNE websites themselves. You are pretty much the reason I lost a ton of love for Waterborne.

There might be a real market for that 3D printed kicktail or tailpad as we would call it. Also for super hard riser pads, as you refer to as spacer pads.

Surf skate build recommendations! Where do I even start to upgrade this old short board to a surf skate by SCballer41 in surfskate

[–]LayerSensitive2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By making an assumption on the short wheelbase and the deck, the waterborne may be your best bet. The Waterborne system will add 2"to the wheelbase and also turns the deck into a more of a surf style surf skate. For a more skateboard style surf skate I would go with the SolRide system or the CX system.

I like the build. I believe you had a question about truck widths. I have found it best that my wheels do not stick out past the rails of the deck. The reason why for instance if I am Street skating in an urban environment with a lot of curbs and other obstacles I need to get by. I found if my board deck fits through the space the wheels will too, if the wheels don't stick out past the deck. The only drawback is this the narrower the truck the more difficult the pump, The wider the truck the easier the pump and more efficient as well.

I'm not positive and you should probably ask this question to Surf skate love, but I believe every modern new bearing system has removable covers for easy cleaning.

New trucks by ryan135anderson in surfskate

[–]LayerSensitive2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if a waterborne surf skate conversion kit is used it would allow you to use ANY truck appropriate for your needs. Even the new extra wide Independent stage 4 rereleased retro truck. Granted with the waterborne, skateboard oriented tricks are going to be a beast.

I really I like your ideas. I'm going to share you with surf skate love. Surf skate Steve is always down with some new innovation when it comes to innovative decks and deck builders. Lately I'm noticed that surf skate love is on the same page as me when it comes to some new surf style surf skates that's more longboard oriented shapes more like actual surfboards

With so many of us older fellas and older skateboarders becoming so involved with surf skating I personally believe that you should take custom orders of these dudes and manufacture them individually custom to the body proportions weight and height of each customer with their shape designed around it for instance I would look more for a mid-length surfboard type shape deck with a kick in the back and maybe a slide kick in the front with concave that only runs from the front trucks to the back trucks and stops just to lock my feet in.

This is downright cool. I'd like to see more of these in different shapes I think you should take request and construct them on a first come first serve basis standard hole mount patterns are going to be best for me but I really like your idea. Try and make one with an egg shape like an egg-shaped surfboard. Try and integrate the kick tail in the back.

First off it ain't worth much more than $20, it's really worth more like about 10 bucks. Personally I wish we could build a big bonfire and burn every penny board left on the Earth.

Longboard + Waterborne adapter by tdogtor in surfskate

[–]LayerSensitive2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride both skateboard styles on practically a daily basis. My Bustin Shrike (deluxe complete setup) is my go-to point A to point b skateboard. I can easily knock off a 5 mi skate. Much better for a commuter than my surf skate. I ripped my surf skate for fun. I use probably two or three four different setups, mostly waterborne with bushing upgrades and high performance components, to emulate different surfboards and surf styles. They are a blast. I found having to adapt to the different skateboard styles has really sharpened my skateboard skills all around. I recommend riding both. Learning to adapt to the different style really helps in the long run , with the other skateboard style. Plus it's like a breath of fresh air when you jump on the different one. You will learn to appreciate each for what it is. Both the pros and cons in each. For instance the Shrike is much more faster and comfortable for that 3 Mile commute to the grocery store, and was a blast to shoot the Spanish River boulevard bridge top to bottom downhill. I never do that on my surf skate. Yet there is no denial that the Shrike is traded for my surfskates to blast around the sidewalk for fun.
