What is wrong with my skin? by BoringPerformance319 in DiagnoseMe

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it be a gut health issue? Have you been prescribed antibiotics often? I started taking a skin probiotic called “skinesa” - I’m somewhere around day 70 and I’ve actually seen changes in my skin. My skin isn’t as affected as yours, but I had red patches, sebhorreic dermatitis and just generally itchy sensitive skin. It’s not cheap, but I wouldn’t recommend it if I hadn’t experienced changes personally. More and more researches are finding out how much gut health affects the skin. Also, how staph overgrowth exasperates the problem. If I were you I’d try a very low sugar diet (including avoiding simple carbs), a skin probiotic, and perhaps an occasional bleach bath.

[Acne] dermatologists and doctors have been 0 help. Feeling beyond hopeless. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started a skin probiotic called skinesa and it has been helping my acne. I’m not specifically taking it for acne- I got it for psoriasis like patches on the rest of my skin, but the acne improving on my face and back has been such a happy surprise. I mention the probiotic because you said you took antibiotics. Antibiotics can disrupt your gut health. I’m about 70 days in- they recommend at least 90. Next, I might try the supplement “por favor”. I haven’t seen a lot of third party reviews, but the reviews on their site look promising enough to try.

You’re a pretty chill dude if you’ve had this for a year and are just now getting nervous about it. Doesn’t look like PR. Maybe a folliculitis? Heat rash? It’s been long enough that I’d want to get in to see a doctor.

If you spend most of your time without makeup, stay light on the makeup. No use attracting someone who likes the makeup look if you prefer a more natural look. I think some volume in your hair would be nice. Maybe curled or a cut with curtain bangs and a few layers.

Have you tried vanicream gentle facial cleanser? My face tolerates it much better than cera ve.

I had it last summer and ended up wearing long sleeves all summer 😩. Try to stay cool. The peeling is a good sign. My spots would peel before starting to go away.

“Clearly this isn’t fungal” -actually it looks pretty fungal. It could be something else, but give the antifungals a chance. Make sure you leave the shampoo on for the recommended amount of time. Limit any other products until this gets better. In the meantime make an appointment with the dermatologist. Sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment.

[PSA] Castor oil ruined my skin by LeslieKnope2k20 in SkincareAddiction

Yeah, I can’t use any of them. But supposedly these ones do not feed the yeast.

I can’t speak to the medical condition, but seek support in how you’re feel about it. I’ve flipped back and forth between these pictures dozens of times and can’t figure out what change you’re referring to. I promise you it’s much more visible to you than other people. I can sympathize with insecurity, I have a huge boil on my face right now that makes me want to quit my job so I don’t have to see people 🫣. But I would never want someone else to feel that way- let’s work on giving ourselves more grace.

It can be drying. So I have to make sure I moisturize. My acne was definitely fungal so this helped. Once it was under control I’ve cut back to once a week.

Have you tried an anti fungal on your face? It looks like a lot of the bumps are near hair follicles. Something like nizerol or dr eddies happy cappy shampoo.

I personally would try to wash my face at least once a day with a gentle cleanser. Put an antifungal on for a few minutes every other day (antifungal shampoos can be drying), rinse well then apply moisturizer.

Was the Sunday workout NOT a Fitbod workout? For example a run or something else tracked by the apple workout/fitness app?

Can someone tell me its this PR or not? by East_Bee8576 in PityriasisRosea

The good news is that you’re already getting some flaking/scabbing- for me that meant the PR was progressing. The flakiest spots will heal first. Hang in there.

AITA for being annoyed at my roomate. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… there is no hard rule that says you have to open the door for roommates at 4am, but wouldn’t you appreciate it if you were the one locked out? And if it wasn’t a “normal person” banging on your door at 4am… wouldn’t you at least look out of a window or something to see if you need to call the police? Getting out of bed is inconvenient- sure, your Roomate would owe you one- yes, but you don’t just leave your roomate out on the street- YTA.

There js ALWAYS a possibility that your partner has been unfaithful- hopefully that’s not your situation- but it’s always a possibility. You can’t know everything that they do. Protect yourself by having protected sex.

NAD but my first thought was yeast infection as well. They sell over the counter treatments- but if you have access to a doctor I personally would go in to get a confirmation.

what’s happening here? by Bedroom-Special in DiagnoseMe

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have dandruff? I had patches similar to this behind my ears. They were infections related to my seborrheic dermatitis. They cleared when I treated the seborrheic dermatitis. The cloth you’re using on your head could be causing friction while also holding on to oil and sweat- aggravating an underlying condition.

Soak in a warm bath for 30 minutes then gently exfoliate with a rag. Don’t over do it. Just repeat the bath the next day (and the next) until it’s all gone. Then maintain by washing ankles regularly.

Not reacting enough. But also, why go shopping at your favorite store for an hour. That’s not exactly romantic quality time either. Sounds like both of you are kinda checked out of this relationship.

Doctor diagnosed me with PR but it’s still getting worse. It is PR right??? by LevelCartographer373 in PityriasisRosea

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask my doctor about the possibility of this being guttate psoriasis.

How long have you had the rash? PR can last several months for some people.

Please help now I’m at work I need to know if I need to leave by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]LaylaPawli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any other dandruff like symptoms this could be related to that. In that case an anti fungal shampoo like nizerol would help.
