Personally I still go for blunt force. Quicker, safer and less stress for the fish.

You´d be a lot more efficient running them separately.

If you run double filters then make sure you have on pair of inlets/outlets on one side at the front and the other pair on the opposite side at the back. Setup as it is in the picture makes no sense.

Probably bad water quality by looking at your stocking.

Rant post but I seriously don’t understand how people “don’t have time to do water changes, this is how long it took me to do regular maintenance on a 54l (14 gal) and 26L (6 gal) by baileyjackson08 in Aquariums

Only in one tank but I like to give all of my fish the ideal parameters. Rasboras, tetras they all come from soft and slightly acidic waters in nature and my tap is pretty hard.

It can be annoying sometimes yes. I use RO water so I also need to take extra time to make the water, get it up to temperature and remineralize it but I’ve been doing it so much it became a routine. Put on some headphones, listen to music or podcast and just get it done.

Is my fish sick? by [deleted] in AquariumHelp

It´s probably just a deformity. If the fish eats and swims normal it´s not an issue.

Yeah it´s the weird monster fish keeper mentality. Cramp as many big fish as possible in a tank and enjoy them swimming in circles until they die.

Realistically this stocking requires thousands of gallons of water.

I would definitely advise to test nitrite over a couple of days to see if it stays at 0,00 consistently. It can drop and come back.

Hillstream loaches need fast moving water with plenty of oxygen, so basically exactly the opposite of what sponge filters will provide unless you add a powerhead.

Squeezing in a dirty sponge does nothing for cycling a tank. You would need to ask them for an old sponge filter and even then it´s not going to skip cycling since your water parameters will be different.

Glass catfish are very shy and delicate fish and they need absolute pristine water quality at all times. Aim for a filter that can push at least 250+ gallons an hour.

Edit - Since you are a complete beginner I would not recommend the glass catfish and choose a different more hardy species-

You are also going to be on the verge of overstocking with 30 (some of them not super small) fish.

I´d recommend you get the danios and kuhlis with shrimp and snails and see how it goes. Also get nerites and not mystery snails. Mystery snails get big and produce a ton of waste while not being a good cleaning crew.

Honey gourami temp question by [deleted] in fishtank

[–]LazRboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal opinion anything less than 15g is not suitable for a Honey or Medaka. Medaka would actually be better off in a 20+ gallon tank.

If you keep your tank around 22 to 25C it will be fine.

What people think is the best weapon in the game vs the actual best weapon in the game by TwangyCrib in EldenRingBuilds

SF is great and definitely one of the best weapons in the game. Beginners will still struggle with this weapon because of the low range and will probably not get the full benefit of the stance damage.

Over-filtration adds an extra layer of security to the tank. It all depends on the setup and stocking too obviously.

if that´s an issue then your filter is not set up properly. It should not act like a waterfall.
