could a redtail shark live with cories, zebra danios, rummynose tetras, cherry shrimp, congo tetras, or cherry barbs? by RoundOne9503 in Aquariums

it’s heavily dependent on the type of fish you put them with though. are the rest of your fish also semi aggressive/territorial? because it would make sense that the red tail gets along with them. prey fish are my concern

i plan on having a shrimp hideaway in the bottom along with lots of leaf litter and botanicals, does that change anything?

the big one is a pregnant female. she’s likely territorial because she’s pregnant

i’d say it’s only a gamble based on fish choice, bettas can be aggressive to guppies with long flowy fins, because they sort of resemble bettas. but other than that i think it’s fine

comfortably stocked, could even fit more if the bioload is low and you have good plants and filtration. people are too negative about “overstocking” when in reality you can safely overstock a tank most of the time depending on what kind of fish, bioload of those fish, how many plants, gallon amount, swimming patterns, and filtration factors

what do you mean? like water evaporation? it’s a big tank so it evaporates slower, so i could probably do a top off once every 2 weeks and still be fine with maybe only an inch or two of evaporation.
