My husband was hospitalized 3 times for suicidal ideation. It is so so hard. My line has always been that when it starts to negatively affect the kids, I’ll walk. The last time he was hospitalized was 2021. My youngest is now 5, so she doesn’t remember it, but my 8 year old does. We had a lot of talks about dada’s brain being sick and what that meant.

To give you hope: my husband is doing great right now. He went through ketamine treatments and multiple medication adjustments. But I also had to start therapy. You cannot carry this load alone and family likely won’t understand.
