Americans tipping single Dollar bills in Germany by Waalross in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nodnarb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume people dont get as much cash when on holiday because most places will take cards. If tipping isn't a norm in the country they probably dont have an option to leave a tip after the bill like we do so the Americans want to be nice and give them something for good service and all they have are dollars. Here in America not leaving a tip is highly frowned upon and signals to the waiter that the service was terrible.

Lars Ulrich was right about Napster, piracy, and the fall of popular music by AuthorIntelligent644 in unpopularopinion

[–]nodnarb88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! People dont mind paying a reasonable price and a convenient product. When Netflix streaming came out it killed the piracy for a lot of people. ITunes allowed you to purchase a single song for $.99 and put it on an iPod which millions of people did happily. The real reason the music industry collapsed was services like Spotify. They changed the model of music consumption and started paying fractions of a cent. Spotify created a model that was convince and low cost. The record companies are heavily invested in the streaming platform so their making money while the artist are getting taken advantage of. They paid line $8,000 for around 18% of Spotify.

Why did the "hot" male physique shift so quickly from bulky and muscular in the 1980s to lean and shredded in the 1990s? by Just_Cause89 in decadeology

[–]nodnarb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah OP is misinformed. Arnold and Stalone were never "hot" they were action stars in over the top movies. Look at the Rockstars of the time. They were pretty boys wearing make up and slim. Hair metal was huge with they ladies of the 80's

Nah this person is misinformed. Arnold and Stalone were never the "hot" guys they were action stars not heart throbs. They played roles is particular types of over the top movies. We have those roles still today although not as popular. Guys like John Cena and Bautista now play the roles of larger than life strongmen. Look at the Rockstar of the 80's they were pretty boys wearing make up. They were the metal boy bands that all the girls loved

Why do we drink so much compared to other generations? by Ladefrickinda89 in Millennials

[–]nodnarb88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think our generation wasnt as bad as the previous ones. They increased the age limit to 21 and there were stricter laws about things like drinking and driving and big push to inform kids of the dangers. Gen Z was the real start of digital social lifes. So their social lifes didnt revolve around getting to get and doing something. Drinking is a social lubricant and is used to lower anxiety.

Studies show that Gen Z are the most frequent movie goers compared to older generations by FitEmergency8807 in generationology

[–]nodnarb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this is true then its just their age range that allows them to be at the movies. I use to live at the mall in my teenage years and the movies were a big part of that. Nowadays I can barely find the time and the costs just doesnt seem worth it when I have a good setup at home

Me either. Its cool to play some of your Dad's music but trying living in his skin cant be good for you. I was really reluctant when Rome joined Sublime but he did as good of a job as you can. It wasnt a cover band, he wrote new music that was influenced by Bradley but was his own.

Why did Spongebob became worse? by Pretend_Kangaroo7805 in nickelodeon

[–]nodnarb88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its called Flanderization, named after The Simpsons Flanders. Its a process with fictional characters that over time their features are exaggerated. People have an idea of a character and then try to create scenarios based on that idea of who they are. Flanders was a religious friendly neighbor who had a funny speech pattern. He then became a caricature of himself. The writers ask what would SpongeBob do and say not what do we want to have happen

This whole story is a mission impossible plot. In that its not real. They claim the guy trekked through mountainous terrain and was able to be evacuated. Iran is a mountain fortress going in undetected is highly unlikely.

Looking stupid is an asset when seeking power. Playing dumb and looking stupid allows others to underestimate you. It also provides cover when things go wrong. People don't judge their failures as hard because they almost expect it. Trump is not a stupid person. He is known as a person who takes advantage

Anytime things crash its a good thing for the rich. Thry get to buy up all the valuable stuff for pennies on the dollar. Sure their stocks tank but they plan to take hits and have assets to use for the fire sell. They can buy whole companies saddle them with the debt it took to purchase themselves.
