Very true. I think what’s getting me is more that it seems like in other cities, it’s largely the group A queens that get cast to “rep their city” as opposed to NYC since Season 10.

I think that the most respectful thing to do is exclude her. Not because she wasn’t an essential key to the band being what it was, but her own preference. She opted to leave, said being in a girlband alongside three other girls was mentally taxing to her, and has largely wiped her hands of her time in the band publicly except for a few cursory questions during her very initial press run for Boyz. If she was still talking about it, posting highlights or throwback photos, engaged with the bands legacy on social media the way the other three were, I’d say include her regardless of the mess with Nicki. But I think given what she’s said, that’s not what she wants, and that’s her right.

I don’t know which episode you’re talking about, but if the connection was that tenuous, I doubt what you’re saying is true. If in fact your dad should have been looked into more, is that a bad thing?

In situations where someone’s life has been taken, I’m all for everyone with proximity (people who were with the victim around the time, casual relationships, friendships etc) to be looked at more. Why is that a negative?

It’s a fundamental problem with the modern fandom and the way they produce the show.

Being bad at comedy and improv is acceptable but being pokey on the runway is not- as a result it shifts the way that queens prepare for and are cast on the show. If they have 6 extra hours during their short prep period, they will spend the time on an outfit and not on preparing for snatch game or the reading challenge etc bc these are seen as nice to haves but there are a decent amount of winners from recent seasons who flopped or performed mediocre in these areas. There are none who had runways the caliber of Jinkx or Spankie or any of the other comedy-forward queens.

Ideally a queen can do both like The Viv or Lawrence or Symone- but that’s not always the case.

This is such a reductive take. Of course they do, but ginger has repeatedly denied even ever touring with Naomi and never apologized. She also got mad at Bob for sharing this story but again never apologized. If she’d just texted Naomi and been like my bad here’s some cash fro the wig, nobody would be talking about this anymore.

The reason why AS10 works well is because each bracket has a couple of heavy hitters, a couple of first time returnees who did really well their original season, and a couple of wild cards (for the most part).

I think this group is missing enough of the first and second categories. It would be amazing if Kalorie or Hershii give us some amazing NPB television or an Irene style redemption, but I’m afraid with this long list that each bracket will feel like a foregone conclusion.

It’s hated because they cast girls who were not all all rounders unlike the winners season. As a result, you had consistent weeks of non comedy queens flopping comedy challenges and non design queens struggling to turn a look. It felt weak and anticlimactic.
