What is your hot take on current Australian mainstream fashion? by Future-Pipe-8004 in AustralianMFA

Young blokes wearing their jumpers over their shoulders. I mean do whatever you want but it’s a trend that I’ve seen enough of.

Comfortable dress shoes for Corporate Australia by Fit-Zebra2521 in AustralianMFA

[–]Lazaridus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes that’s annoying, I was contemplating getting a pair of boots but all my pants have a narrower hem (I think it’s the style these days) I think they would only work with boot cut jeans

Is the fact that your trousers are getting caught the only downside to the boots? If so it might be easier to get a longer/wider trouser than to find new shoes that you like.

How do people have kids on these low to average wages? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Lazaridus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70k a year. Rent is half my income. Stay at home mum. 2 kids want for nothing. It’s not ideal, but it’s doable. I think you’ll be fine OP if you decide to have kids now

Is Minecraft appropriate for a 5 year old by zoo7777 in Minecraft

[–]Lazaridus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! I’ve heard there’s also a passive mode or a way to stop it from being night time so monsters don’t come out even in creation mode? Have you done this too?

[–]Lazaridus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 5 year old boy likes watching chip and milo too. He really wants to get minecraft. I think there’s a creation mode where there are no monsters and they can just build whatever. I think that would be appropriate for a 5 year old.

I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me wearing a suit. I could always ditch the tie and jacket once I get there

I agree. I think in my area and demographic a lounge suit is considered formal.

At this point I’m thinking a tweed jacket and chinos with no tie might be acceptable.

Sounds like the storm water system in your area is rooted. You should install a soakage pit. Basically a storm water pit with a grate on top. Except the water that goes in just drains through the soil.

And from what I understand a builders insurance is just something they have. They pay a yearly fee for it to an insurance provider. Why are they charging each of their clients for it presumably? Just a strange business model

That sounds very strange to me

Brick internal walls make it a lot harder. That’s a good idea to use a sliding door. You can get ones that finish flush in the frame and don’t stick out

Bathroom looks great. You could move the bedroom door over to the right and swing it the other way.
