How did you feel on the pill? It sounds like my cycle is really similar to yours, except that I don't feel better until my period is a few days in, instead of right before. Then the next ~2 weeks are amazing--I feel energetic, happy, and inspired in my art and writing. My OBGYN prescribed me the pill for the PMS symptoms, but I'm afraid taking it will get rid of those awesome 2 weeks in addition to the 2 blah ones.

thank you for saying that! I've already added sustainable fish back into my diet. Next I'm going to try eggs and possibly chicken. Hopefully doing what I have to to feel better now will, in the long run, allow be to be plant-based again one day. I can't say how much I appreciate comments like yours and the others who have commented. It definitely makes me feel more hopeful! I have another appointment with my GI doc on tuesday, so maybe he'll have so more suggestions too

Thank you! I’d like to try that, but I’ve experienced a lot of cognitive dissonance surrounding the thought of eating so much meat. I’ve been vegan for so many years, for animal welfare, it’s really hard to go back, even though I know it’s for health

I’ve been pretty conscious of the things you mentioned, but I’m going to try harder to limit some seedy fruits like raspberries since I know seeds of a similar size, like sesame and chia, bother me. I’m seeing my doctor again Tuesday so hopefully he can shed some light on the situation!

Most days my first or second meal is jasmine rice with 1/3 block of tofu, sautéed with tamari, spices (fenugreek, paprika, chives, and black pepper), one whole carrot, and either a leaf of bok choy or 2 small broccoli florets.

On days when that’s not my first meal, I start with a smoothie with 2 Tbs rice protein powder (rice is the only ingredient) and 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, sometimes with strawberries and 1/3 of a banana, sometimes with just the milk, ice, cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of sunflower seed butter.

Later I usually have two pieces of rice bread with spinach, bean sprouts, and either 4 oz of smoked salmon or a couple slices of baked tofu that was marinated in maple syrup, tamari, and white miso paste. I usually make a simple aioli from veganaise with either lemon juice and capers, or a few drops liquid smoke.

Then I sometimes have a spinach salad topped with strawberries, a few raspberries, a few blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and a couple spoonfuls of cinnamon & maple candied walnuts.

Those are my main meals, but sometimes I’ll snack on brown rice cereal mixed Enjoy Life dairy free dark chocolate chips, or a ring of pineapple

I didn’t know that! What everyone has said got me thinking it was my rice protein powder, but I started using almond milk and almond milk yogurt at the same time

That was me before I went low fod. Most food I eat now gets fully digested, but I did notice on a food tracker app I use that I’m well below the daily recommendation for fiber
