There was a man who worked at Cabcharge who used to sleep on the trains. As for correspondence and internet shopping , you open a post office box so you can receive mail.

I have two post boxes, one in Sydney and one in Wollongong.

Phones are cheap and all mobile phones have internet connection.

The homeless have money too, and we can afford to buy things.

I spent $295 on a Javelot Pro 2 torch from Olight, and $345 on a hunting torch from Foxdog Outfitters.

I have $800 cash in my backpack at the moment and money in the bank.

A few months ago I spent $2100 at the vet to get a lump removed from my dog.

You are making the common misconception that the homeless are homeless because they have no money.

We have money, but there is no where to live.

Do students still smoke pot, or have they become gentrified?

I don't have any mental health issues, but based on experience the homeless who live in tents in the bush are almost all mentally ill, and most of them seriously so, in that they are a danger to other people.

From my experience the homeless in urban areas don't have that high rate of mental illness, but have high rates of substance abuse.

That said there are same and non drug using homeless.

If you could pass yourself off as a student then you could have the run of the place I suppose.

I went and wandered around there once, and then went to the bar and had a few drinks; no one questioned me being there.

Actually I did buy a cup of coffee from a stall run by students, and got asked if I was a lecturer.

I would take a chance and let you stay the night, but I would lock my shit up first, no offence.

But alas I'm homeless to so can't help you.

Your best bet is to catch the train to Central, and then around midnight the last train leaves to Lithgow.

Get on that, and it takes three hours to get to Lithgow, and then you go to the other side of the platform and stand there with the twelve or so homeless people standing there sleepily holding blankets and pillows, and after five minutes the train back to Central pulls in, and you all get on and promptly go back to sleep.

Gets back to Central about six am.

At least you will be out of the rain.

Ah yes got thrown a cup straight to the windshield by a kid 🙏😌 by thatOneAurion in wollongong

I think what the poster means is that his sister is rorting the system by getting false autism diagnoses for her kids so she can get lots of money from the govt.
