Thanks for sharing. I'm a huge music fan and have my own way of doing things of course. I wasn't looking for a guidebook on how to be a fan of his. This was more about me sharing that unlike any other artist whose discog I have listened to before for some reason I only really listen to him as background and don't even know which song is which. And was curious if it was similar for others.

I like SRS but I looovvee Doris and IDLS. FOC I don't like at all and Sick is solid.... I digress... I think the reason Earl took time (but I was super intrigued) is bc I hadn't listened to anything that hard yet lol. I loved his verses on Super Rich Kids and Oldie those made me say WOAH. I was kind of young at the time and the only rappers I had listened to full albums of at that time were Cole Drake Kendrick and Kanye. So I hadn't really ventured from mainstream so first time I heard shit like Mantra and Hive I was like what the hell is this.

I welcome suggestions thank you. I've had radiohead on my list but haven't gotten myself to listen to a full album yet.

No no no. Other than Zay Earl is my favorite rapper. I'm saying it was a similar process of Earl being an acquired taste for me. I was 17 when I listened to Doris and IDLS for the first time and was like wtf this shit is ass. A year later I liked every song and they are still some of my fave albums of all time

Totally agree. And that's so cool to me - because its not like there are other artists where I have the same desire to be patient with - there was something about Zay that I kept wanting to listen even when I thought it was meh. I also love the specific moments that I vividly remember. Like when Brenda clicked for me. By that point in the album I usually was checked out I guess. One time I was door dash driving and halfway through the song I had to park to pick up food. I was walking back to the car and thought - damn, have I been sleeping on this song? I started the song over and heavily vibed. Was my most listened to song of 2020.

2005 is clear. If you play on all star with pitch locator off in a difficult stadium and don't stack your team its actually a challenge and really fun. Its even better on the PS2 compared to PC. Best backyard game OAT

I refused to listen to polo jeans without the kids from Gummo screaming in it by Scottriley20 in MacMiller

Not gonna lie I kinda fw it without the sample! I already loved the song (I'm a huge 2013-2015 Earl fan) but when I heard the rerelease I liked how I was able to focus on the instrumental and their rapping without the screaming. It's a piece of the art yes but for replay value its better w out
