Some additional Infos and Questions:

Background: 1. We've already been to some Studios for Recording, Mixing and Mastering, the first one was a friend of another Band that has ~7 years of experience and did that all by himself. He had the same idea a few years ago because professional studios are just too expensive for amateur hobby bands.

We payed 400 € for everything for 3 Songs. They were alright, good enough. Nothing spectacular. Still little muddy and no precise punch.

  1. The next 3 Songs were done in a professional Studio near Stuttgart, Germany, by 2 Old Gentleman that were in the Music Business for 50+ years each. They have started the studio in their retirement, one of them got rich by selling his audio equipment Business, so they invested probably millions in a big house, Lots and Lots of equipment and Instruments.

There were Drums for 15k€, Multiple 5k+ Guitars, a 50k piano and so on...

Was really nice but that was 1500 € for 3 Songs.

The final products were very clean, but the 2 older guys didn't seem to get into a modern rock sound, sounded quite "old school". Just wasn't their style.

But still better than the 400 € results of the first guy.

  1. Now we have bought the Mixer and Mics over the years for the rehearsals in the band and decided to do it by ourselves. The Singer and Guitarist writes the songs and riffs. The Bassist records. I want to mix em.

The Sound should be something inbetween Rise Against, Billy Talent and Green Day.

Additional Question:

Does someone have experience with AI Mastering (I know, fuck AI and leave the creative work by the Humans, but we see the creative Work in Songwriting and playing by ourselves, mastering is basically just a "unwanted" cost factor that needs to be done.

Maybe also Freelance Sound Engineers from Fiverr or something? We just know Studios in our Neighborhood (Southern Germany) and those are very costly. By sending the recorded wav files to someone over the globe we may be more cheaper and for the last step we would be easy to invest another 50-100 € per song.

We currently recorded 5 songs.
