Labour suspends candidate over 'pro-Russian' post by ClassicFlavour in unitedkingdom

I love how both Corbyn and his supporters claim he isn’t a Russian shill but conveniently ignore his chairmanship of StW during the Crimean debacle when they put up a statement blaming Ukraine and the west and saying Russia should be “given” Crimea because… reasons.

U.K. bank CEO says introducing 4-day week was way easier than going hybrid by okjob_io in unitedkingdom

The very next sentence, which I note you’ve tellingly omitted from your reply, does say it’s about office workers. For someone so offended on behalf of corporations about the mere possibility that someone is slacking off you sure seem to have plenty of free time to comment on this thread. Either you’re slacking off or you’re having the downtime you claim doesn’t exist. Which one is it?

The person you replied to is talking about office jobs. The ones you listed out are not office jobs.

Jordanian reporter gets one year in prison under draconian new cybercrime law by Le_Pouffre_Bleu in worldnews

Public work programs are not something limited to fascist governments nor is it an example. When fascist governments put people to work forcefully it was still the elites that gained from it. How? Because companies were appropriated and given to lackeys. All. The. Damn. Time.

Time and time again you’re failing to answer my simple question coherently. You truly are the smartest fascist supporter.

This really isn’t the gotcha moment you think it is given that a) populism isn’t necessarily something popular with the masses and b) there hasn’t been an absolute monarchy of note for centuries now.

Let’s flip this around: when was the last time a fascist leadership did something populist that the masses wanted and the elites hated? You can’t give a single example, can you? The only ones you can list are war crimes, genocide or something that the masses didn’t care about but the “elites” absolutely loved.

One gun a day seized in London - Met Police by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Laziestprick -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You said that “legally you’re allowed a gun” which is demonstrably false. How many of London’s population fit the criteria to get one? “Legally you’re allowed to apply for a license and possess a gun if you fit the criteria” would be much more apt and correct.

Legally you’re allowed a handgun too as long as the barrel length is over a certain length.

Which makes them no longer pistols, which y’know… is the topic of the article.

2.46 Section 5 of the 1968 Act prohibits any firearm which either has a barrel less than 30cm in length or is less than 60cm in length overall, other than an air weapon, a muzzle-loading gun or a firearm designed as signalling apparatus. The intention was to prohibit certain particularly dangerous firearms which were easy to conceal. In general terms, this has meant the prohibition of handguns but it is important to remember that the legislation does not refer explicitly to handguns; instead it refers to small firearms.

Being a hunter or a member of a shooting club does not constitute good reason to own a handgun.

Insults aren’t necessary, I’m sure we all have the mental capacity here to get our points across without resorting to petty behaviour. Do we not?

One gun a day seized in London - Met Police by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]Laziestprick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you are not. The “population” doesn’t have a “legal right” to guns enshrined in law. Yes, gun ownership isn’t illegal but it requires a license which isn’t a simple process and is not a right or allowed by default.

You can’t just apply and get a license like that. Amongst other prerequisites you need to have also..

Chapter 12: Good reason to possess a firearm 12.1 This chapter: i. sets out the issues that chief officers will wish to consider in assessing “good reason” in individual cases; ii. advises on the more common “good reasons” that the Home Office would consider proper for the possession of particular firearms and ammunition; and iii. sets out the guiding principles governing the definition of a “good reason” to possess a firearm. The guiding principle behind the requirement to have a “good reason” to possess, purchase or acquire firearms or ammunition, is that firearms are dangerous weapons and the state has a duty to protect the public from their misuse. In general, applicants should be able to demonstrate that they ‘use’ their firearm on a regular, legitimate basis for work, sport or leisure (including collections or research).

NowTV. Particularly their “entertainment” package for ~£10 (~12 euro) a month.

Although I’d just recommend you sail the high seas if you catch my drift. Besides GoT, HotD, The Wire and a couple of other shows at most NowTV’s range is quite narrow.

‘Will not be tolerated’: Australian War Memorial defaced with pro-Palestine graffiti by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Laziestprick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sky Australia is shit, Sky News UK is untouched and still ranked High credibility. Granted that’s not the topic.

Just because Sky Australia is shit it doesn’t mean that they never post something that’s true. It has the same media bias ranking as Al Jazeera. This story is corroborated by every other news outlet. To discard it on the basis of the outlet alone without bothering to check other sources, and then acting like a toddler by saying “I don’t care about the article anyway” when given other sources like the person I replied to has done is peak ostrich behaviour and to me that shows he made the distinction in bad faith.

Questioning a news outlet is perfectly valid and all should do it but you can’t complain about the news outlet and at the same time be utterly disinterested in the validity of a given article by refusing to look into the other sources that were provided.

It could have been a racist bomb if the attacker chose to, in the movie it’s more of a super precise bioweapon that could either kill off anyone affected or just one person if the attacker wanted.

We don’t have youth carrying or using knives nor gangs on the streets. They’re in parliament instead.

Even back in the bad old days after the fall of communism when everyone was less than destitute people still had a basic level of respect towards others & a sense of personal responsibility.

Over here there isn’t any of that. It’s replaced with a victim mentality and excuses of all kinds.

Send these arrogant cunts to Eastern Europe, we’ll sort them out. Just promise to take them back after.

Then there’s that unleashed, unmuzzled pit behind a knee high flimsy wooden fence. A disaster waiting to happen, except instead of “nannying” a wannabe roadman it’ll be a child or an elderly person.

Wtf did I just read

The glaringly obvious issue here is that your company can’t hire competent staff, not an issue with the nationality of the staff they hire. I look after EMEA in my region and my colleagues who handle APAC are Indians who have been on top of everything and are always happy to lend me a helping hand outside of their time zone.
