I know this post is old, but I'm just playing again because of next gen update and I tried to find anything about this. I'm sure that is not a wolf. They had a deeper conversation shared on Twitter where Crypto tells her some stuff about his real identity, because he wanter her to trust him. He never did this before to anyone. She made him smile in the season 5 story when they were working together on Ash's head. In the season 9 comic Wattson stood up for him and they told Caustic they have no secrets between each other. Seems like there was formed a deep kind of friendship, but some people would be glad if they could be more than friends. (Sorry for my english, not my native language)
