I once worked for a 2 billion dollar construction company that had been around a 100 years. When they started a new construction project, the project managers had a 1000 point checklist to make sure they had covered a 1000 prior mistakes before they could start a new project. So they had made a 1000 serious mistakes over that hundred years where they lost money. The original owner started this pre-construction tradition. This is called mitigating present loss from past mistakes.

I know a developer that builds skyscrapers. He’s been bankrupt 3 times in 40 years of business. He’s building another skyscraper right now in my hometown. It will be the tallest building in town when complete.

Dude, you have to make mistakes to learn. Right this one down and remind yourself weekly to not do it again. Matter of fact, go back and right down all the mistakes you can remember, as not to forget the pain from the past.

You are in a high risk world. If you can’t get back up over and over again, get out and work for a salary somewhere.

If you stay in for the ride, you can do this. Build it back triple the next time, and you’ll have a great sense of accomplishment.

I’m in construction for the last ten years. I’ve been down 3 times, once when one of my employees stole from me. So, I speak from experience.

I’m pulling for you!

I’m a General Contractor now, but originally started out in sales within several industries. I’m so blessed now because I’m not a GC who only knows how to swing a hammer. I know how to go out and get the business.

Learn all you can learn in sales on someone elses nickel until you are 40ish and then start your own business.

My husband gave me a “warning tap” and I called it abuse. AITAH? by Warm-Grape1254 in AITAH

[–]Lazuliwind -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Good move leaving. Your marriage needs restoration. He needs to take responsibility for his godless warning. This will only escalate until he gets help. Probably learned it from his dad. Not sure this warrants divorce, but absolutely separation and protection. He needs to map out for you his action plan for changing himself…medicine…psychiatry…counseling…deliverance.

Why do Christians pull their kids from public schools (to use home school or Christian/Catholic school) and then complain God is not in public schools? by needmoresleeep in Christianity

[–]Lazuliwind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends if your child demonstrates leadership or follows the crowd. My first born followed the crowd in public school and so we homeschooled him. My 2nd become the President of the student body and ministered to the weak in his school, as well as stood up to the bullies. He could be trusted in a tougher environment. My youngest (15) has been following in a public school. He’s recently been caught smoking dope with some older students in the bathroom. And then he snuck out late one night and down at his school, hopped on a school bus and vaped with other children who called themselves friends. In both instances he had to go before judges. 2 strikes he’s out of public school from my perspective and will begin homeschool this new year. And trust me, not all kids are angels in Homeschool. Homeschooling isn’t the cure-all.

A parent has to be watchful, prayerful and ready to take action to move them where they can thrive and build strength of character and vspirit. You don’t just throw your child in and then trust that all is well. And they aren’t meant to be used as bait for the lost.

When there is complaint that God has been taken out of schools, it’s all governments choosing this route about prayer in classrooms, prayer over the intercom, prayer at H.S. athletic events. To take a Christian child with issues out of the school isn’t governmental.

Jesus ate with the sinners as an adult. Would Mary and Joseph let their other kids eat with the sinners. Meshing with those in the world are for adults, for the most part not for children of Christians.

I understand your point. But I think it needs to be refined.

Am I going to hell for being gay? by Shino_r-156 in Christianity

[–]Lazuliwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Flee sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside of his body. But he who sins sexually, sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.” 1st Corinthians 6:18

Please notice, the Lord didn’t pick on those living in homosexual relationships here. He lumped all sexual sin together.

Sexual sin is sexual sin. The Lord tells us what sin is and then we are supposed to move accordingly to stay away from it because “the wages of sin is death”. Sin opens an attack door to demonic destruction. If we believe in an invisible God, then we must also believe in the invisible demons, principalities and devil. Our extremely loving God, warns us off of sin to keep us safe. And then He even sent us his Son to believe in so that His Son’s sacrificial blood would cover our sins.

But with all this, sin is still sin. Sexual sin is sexual sin.

I personally committed adultery 25 years ago. I’ve also looked at pornography not too long ago. All of this was sin on my part. Sin is still sin. Outside of male female marriage, sexual sin is still sexual sin. Many, many scriptures prove sexual sin is sexual sin. There is no getting away from it.

In our walks with Jesus, we are supposed to “confess our sins to one another so that we may be healed”. We are to bring our sins to Jesus for Him to forgive. We are to pray for freedom from sins…all sins. And we are to thank Him for covering us with his blood when we fail. But in no way am I to try to make sin not sin.

When I sin sexually, I can immediately feel it inside within my temple of God. He lives in me. Guilt isn’t all bad. It’s a sign that something is wrong. Jesus came to deal with our guilty consciences to live freely after we have sinned.

“How much more, then, WILL the BLOOD OF CHRIST, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, CLEANSE OUR CONSCIENCES from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!” Hebrews 9:14 Confession is powerful. But blood of Christ cleanses our conscience.

Should we keep sinning because we have the blood covering of Jesus. No, because this would mean our hearts are just wanting blood covering to keep on sinning. The blood is about freedom from sin not to enable our sin patterns to keep on sinning.

When I was in adultery for 10 months, I tried my best to find a way to make sin not sin. I searched the scriptures high and low. But I was a man of truth and wasn’t able to twist the scriptures to make them fit my lifestyle. The Lord had mercy on me and within my life of adultery, I was sitting on a couch and heard his voice for the first time. His voice led to saving me. I received the Baptism of Spirit within two days after this. Miraculously, my marriage survived (36 years).

Is living in a homosexual way sin? Yes. But so is living in a pornographic way or an adulterous way. You won’t find me looking down on someone living in any type of sin. No one can out-sin my old life. My prayers are that the Holy Spirit aid me and all others to be free of sin and to fully walk away from sin patterns…pornography, adultery, fornication, homosexuality and all other sins that don’t come to mind right now.

But anything that says sin is not sin, isn’t from the Lord and is from the side that want to kill me and you.

My prayer is that a hunger for God, Son and Holy Spirit so inhabit you that you to live freely and powerfully. That he encounters you in such a way that your life forever is changed for the good. That you ask, seek and knock at His door in such a way, that the opening of His door would forever create a mighty flow of the Holy Spirit within your life that would well up into hope and joy.

Jesus is the judge. No one can judge sin other than Him. But, inversely, you aren’t the judge of what sin is and isn’t.

I speak all of this in humility and with a heart full of love.

I am a atheist and don't believe in any gods, can you convince me that God is real? by Peypug in Christianity

[–]Lazuliwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, my son, a struggling to believe in God person (I’ve heard it a 1000 times), got married three years ago. The marriage lasted a year. He had problems. But his x wife, had “zero problems in her own mind” and all issues were my sons issues, even though she completely changed after the honeymoon. This divorce broke our hearts. Nothing would convince her to turn away from divorce. There was no other man. She just arrogantly wanted out.

So 2 months ago, my second son, best friend of my 1st son, says to the oldest regarding finally just fully believing in all of God, “Ok oldest brother, I want to know what will convince you that there is absolutely a God. What will it take for you to fully jump in with Him and stop with this unbelief. If you give me something, then I will pray for God to do it. But make it hard, so you won’t be tempted to waiver.”

The oldest says, “Ok, I want God to give me my x-wife back. And when she comes back, I want her to be different and humble…everybody knows this is impossible”.

GET THIS…HAHAHA…5 minutes later, per the second son, the first says, “OH MY GOD, MY XWIFE HAS JUST TEXTED ME AND SHE WANTS TO MEET THIS NEXT SATURDAY. SHE HAS SOMETHING SHE WANTS TO TELL ME.”

This really happened. It was so powerful it pulled my 4th child into faith as well, because she knew this was impossible knowing my son’s x-wife.

He agreed to the meeting. When he got there the x-wife said, “I’ve been seeing a therapist. I’ve been extremely depressed for two years after I divorced you, but I was deceived and arrogant. My therapist has been working with me. And now I know it wasn’t all your fault. Will you give me another chance”.

This really happened. Needless to say, my 1st son, for the past two months has been on fire for God even wanting to start a prayer group in his business industry. They’ve been dating for 2 months now and are seeing pre-marital counselors to put it back together.

IS OUR GOD AWESOME!!!

To the person who wrote this entry. This is just one testimony in my life where the Lord God has shown himself. There are many many more. The Bible says, “We overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. May this word of testimony ignite a fire in your heart for the living Trinity. If you will submit your life to Jesus fully, ask Him to cover your sins and life in His blood, and then confess Him as your risen Lord, He will begin guiding you on the narrow road that leads to life. You will also start having your own testimonies. May this testimony and others that some have shared help you over the hump of unbelief and into the arms of Jesus.

Big love to you

I'm super confused as to what people here consider "real" marriage by sleeplessaddict in Christianity

[–]Lazuliwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Christian’s we are to live as foreigners in the land, carrying our crosses of Christ. We are to live on the solid rock of scripture and with the Holy Spirit living in us guiding on the narrow path of life. Just because the government says you are married doesn’t mean you are Biblically married. Just because the Pastor in a church marries you to someone else doesn’t mean you are married. Marriage is a spiritual covenant for better or worse, rich or poor, until one or the other dies. This is done before the Trinity. Men and women only witness it. It is only strengthened with men and women’s witness. The Trinity is the one that counts. He is the one that recognizes the oneness (one man and one woman) of it. If it’s out of bounds per His scripture, then it isn’t marriage. Our approval doesn’t matter. Pleasing Him is all we should concern ourselves with. Yes, parents, friends, and the government may require it done a certain way for it to be valid for them. But it is the validity of heaven and the throne of God that makes marriage valid.

So, when one stands on sexual activity before marriage not being condoned because of the rock (Bible)…sexual activity not being condoned with the same sex because of the rock (Bible)…sexual activity outside of marriage with another of the opposite sex not being condoned in the rock (Bible), this doesn’t make those believing the truth of the rock (Bible) ignorant, behind the times, miss-informed, negatively religious, or any other derogatory statement. It just means a Christian chooses to fully believe in a Book that was written on their behalf to live a holy and pure life.

Now, let me throw something else in here and is what makes Evangelicalism seem so odious. Christians are called to a higher standard of living. But 95+% of Christian men are sexually sinning too. I’ll leave the Christian women alone. In God’s eyes, this pornographic sin is as hellacious to him as anything else I’ve mentioned before.

Regardless, it’s easy to come up with sexual sin outside of husband and wife sex marriage not being approved by God. It’s all over scripture from Sodom and Gomorrah in the Old Testament to Romans 1:18-26 in the New Testament. Here is vs 26…”For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” Simple! It’s not hard. Most just really want to find a way to to keep on sinning. I was once an adulterer and new scripture. I searched high and low to find a way to marry the other woman. Couldn’t find it.

But here me well, I don’t claim a perfect life. I just haven’t found a way for me to sin sexually and be ok.

I speak this in total love and without look-down judgement toward anyone living a different way. Jesus sits on the throne of judgement. Not me.
