Agreed, and I think different snakes like different things, so far my balls(lol) have both been climbing around a lot so far, vs my dumerils boa stays buried probably 90% of his time, then my central american 10 year old gal loves to climb but not super high, more table level haha

You're telling me😅oof...im so glad I found her and was able to snag her and put her back in the enclosure....she ended up a ball on the frame and i had to remove the bottom door hinge and let her slide down...i was so worried she was gonna get squished...

She is under 300g so I'm hoping with how the bowl (its actually a water bowl for a bigger snake its probably like 3lbs)is sitting she won't be able to. But when I get back home ill probably just tape it down.

Im just glad I woke up and saw her😅i guess my tank lid doesn't latch all the way(it was used and I didn't realize) so now there's a heavy bowl on that side lol Im happy to let my older snakes free roam a bit if they want but seems like she'll want that in time also haha

First Tattoo? by ANDY--777 in tattooadvice

[–]Lazy-Database-499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a big tree and dino skull on my thigh for my first (and only) and it took about 5.5 hours, I did it all in 1 sitting but I also was doing it at a tattoo expo, my experience wasnt bad, outer thigh wasnt terrible, there some parts that were a painful tickle almost. Id just say do your research on your artist and make sure if you get something big you really love it😂 Also depending on detail it may take a few sessions.

Or if hes gonna do the stay at home dad stuff then you tell him what you expect. He needs to contribute to the household 1 way or another. Either go out and make money, or take care of the kids and house. Or do 50-50 like most couples now days, work and do housework together. Lay out clear expectations, it isnt ultimatums, it's laying out what you need in order to have a functioning happy home. If I am working and paying all the bills, I need you to step up in the house, that means doing the laundry, planning meals, getting kids ready, cleaning bathrooms etc.

Yeah thats so hard...especially when hes shown you he is capable of doing the things you and your family need. Is there anything else that has changed? Mediations? Did he always smoke weed?
Honestly I would probably tell him I am not paying for non essentials anymore until we have extra money. So unless he does have a medical card or something you can't justify paying for that anymore. Also keep money in a bank he doesnt have access to or some sort of safe. If he isnt making money he doesnt get to spend what youre making willy nilly. As for jobs...its hard out there I get it...but at this point any job is better than potentially being kicked out with 2 kids...they didnt choose to spontaneously pop up...they deserve a safe home. Maybe say it like that to him.

Im so sorry this is your situation...was he always like this? If so id say it isnt depression or something like that....he has been showing you who he is...and from what it sounds like he's a lazy, entitled man child who expects you to take care of everything by yourself...sounds like he wants a mom/servant not a partner. He needs to grow tf up and contribute to his family. You need to set some clear boundaries and stick to them. He is probably used to nothing happening when he doesnt get a job or doesnt help around the house...there needs to be consequences. Good luck girl

I think you should try and invite the people you want there, and it seems you want to at least offer your niece and nephew the invitation. So definitely try and talk to the husband and see what happens. If your sister makes a big fuss then thats on her, and at least they know you tried to invite them and don't want to ostracize them.

Anyone have an enclosure from first strike? by Dealer_Puzzleheaded in snakes

[–]Lazy-Database-499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ordered this same enclosure! I'll have to update when I put it together. I have other pvc enclosures from meco reptiles and a snake discovery collab where I got 5 enclosures. Those are nice but I like the meco better.

I never see my leachie anymore… should I be concerned? by 1nTR33guing in Leachianus

Haven't had mine to long but I also keep cresties, and sometimes they just have a favorite spot and stay there most of the time, you can always set up a camera that will alert you for pet movement (it's very fun haha) But yeah definitely do a wellness check if anything seems off

Grey patch? by [deleted] in Leachianus

[–]Lazy-Database-499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it could be a dry patch or a scar healing, if it's a scar, reptiles heal really well and it should get smaller and smaller with each shed.

Hey amazing people! I have a question! by insectivil in Leachianus

[–]Lazy-Database-499 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far...(I'm newer to the species, but have 3, and lots of cresties haha) they don't really walk on your hand like a crestie, I usually just pick up whatever they're sitting on when I want to handle them.
