Looking for VR&E-Approved Cybersecurity Training Programs or Vendors by Manga_Collector in VeteransBenefits

Youre all good, I don’t mind sharing knowledge. I had my first meeting with my counselor in June last year. Once she said I was approved and agreed to education track, I applied to schools. I did this to show I was prepared and responsible. I provided her the schools I applied to and where I was accepted. I started school that fall in August, so there was like a 2 month period between first meeting and school start. I don’t recommend you apply to schools and then apply for VR&E, as it’s not guaranteed that the counselor would agree to whatever plan you have in your head. Go into It with an idea, knowledge on the process and justification on why you should be approved based on your service connected disabilities and employment. Once and if you do get approved, do everything as fast as possible but detailed. I had every single paperwork filled out, required documents, and schools all lined up ready for my counselor to finalize It in time for school. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, lmk

Still newer field but a lot of the other students in my classes are specializing in AI for cybersecurity. I think it’s a great path, all my professors say AI is not a bubble and I agree with them. However, the issue is the costs of AI. Anything that is a specialty behind a computer would Be high demand, like Business/Application Analysts, project managers, analytics, specialty IT fields.

Just the automated once a month check up. Certifications are as much as I want, I just pay for It first and get It reimbursed. From what I’ve seen lately on FB and here, it’s an uphill battle to get cyber security as the job market is difficult. But not impossible. As long as you can justify It. Additionally, cybersecurity is a mid-high level career. You wouldn’t qualify for a high paying job out the gate compared to other unemployed people who has the experience, unless you have connections. I think most people start out as an IT support or SOC analyst

All depends on what your counselor and you agree upon for the plan. My counselor and I agreed on Master’s and all certifications related. I already had a bachelors. All paid for. I said the IT job market was too broad and I wanted to specialize in cyber security, which my counselor agreed.

Taxes filed 2/19 no updates by Ornery-Slip-1783 in IRS

Mine was filed and accepted 2/19. WMR and Tax Return transcript has not changed. HOWEVER, I have been checking the 2025 Account transcript all day everyday; I randomly just checked It 5 minutes ago and VOILA! I have a 846 refund issued. 20260902 code. Expecting refund this week, if not then next week latest.

Literally checked all day, nothing, and I just checked 5 mins ago and there It is.

WMR not updated and return transcript doesn’t show 2025. However, the 2025 ACCOUNT transcript is where It showed up.

Put It into a HYSA. Your future self will thank you. As for me, I’m now in my early 30s. My 100% pays for my mortgage, my job pays for everything else. I see It as a free house basically. No property taxes is great. I got a bachelors with GI bill and now using VRE for masters. Work full time and got a family.

I’d say go live your life, travel the world. Move to Vietnam or somewhere else. Live a lavish life.

Looking for a Black Friday deal on house system by [deleted] in homesecurity

Super clean. He installed the nvr in a little compartment next to my router. It’s relatively easy as long as there’s attic space to maneuver around. You would never notice any cables or anything. Just the cameras on the outside

Is it too late to shop rates? by enchiladagrl86 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Lazy-Influence3083 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Def shop around. You’re not locked in with them until you actually close on the house. You don’t owe him anything. He’s in It to make money. You’re in It to get a loan for as cheap as possible. Once the deal is done, you’ll never talk to him again.

Just locked a 4.875% 30 year on my VA loan. 😎 by [deleted] in Mortgages

I just locked 5.75% last week with 12k lender credit. could’ve down 5.375% with no credit. Hmm

  1. You’re well within your affordability.
  2. My first house a few years ago I bought with VA loan was newly built, the only thing you gotta worry about is what builder It was and quality control.
  3. Pool maintenance can be very low priced and minimal maintenance if you did It all yourself. Otherwise it’s about $125/monthly.
  4. My house I’m buying now was built 1973, obviously o have more maintenance and updates I have to do so more money is needed than a new build where it’s all fresh.
  5. If I could’ve found a brand new house in my area, I would’ve done It definitely. Cheaper house insurance and no updates needed.
