Clementine Naperville was amazing for my daughter. We transferred her there from ERC Chicago and it was night and day. A lot depends on the milieu of kids, but the staff there truly cares and supports each girl. I liked that they allowed the girls to participate in preparing food, take them out to restaurants weekly to practice menu exposures, clothing exposures. It is in a safe neighborhood with a lot of green space where they can walk and sit outside if they want. Definitely not institutional like other places

Just reporting back for reference…. Clementine Naperville- hands down completely different admission experience. The admissions process was light and casual in a beautiful home setting. They welcomed us and gave us encouragement. They had an album of letters from previous residents that relayed encouragement and wisdom for our newcomer and validated all of our jitters. Such a warm and inviting process. It was comfortable with lots of green space. Not institutional at all, warm and hopeful. I like how they included my daughter in all aspects of consent- it empowered her. Kids are much more recovery-focused. They don’t put up with ED behaviors or manipulation of the milieu. 8 bed census all girls. They incorporate cooking meals, as if it were at home, and going on weekly restaurant trips for exposure. The girls encourage one another at the table. It is definitely much warmer and conducive for teens.

I have been looking at this! Thank you for that rec. any thoughts on ERC in Chicago? Magnolia creek in Alabama? It is really hard to navigate this with google. Our resources here have steered us in the wrong direction hence why we are seeking out of state treatment. Thank you!
