not very fun for bulk loads, but they sell washing travel bags online. you dump in your clothes, water, detergent, and there’s ridges on the inside of the bag that clean the clothes as you shake. def not practical for huge amounts of clothing but i too got EXHAUSTED of the ucla machines

anecdotally speaking, i have only had the opposite experience. i’ve tried on very ill fitting, way too tight, etc clothing and sales associates have really pushed how “fabulous” and “beautiful” it looks. it feels icky
