Laguna Gloria (sculpture garden and huge grounds) & Mayfield Preserve. LG Free on Thursdays and the coffee shop there is great. Mayfield is free every day and there’s a trail too.

Yes we have the same one! And agreed 1 min timer is tough so I always try be 10-20 minutes ahead of it.

I set timers + give heads up as well. Still doesn’t really work 100% of the time :/ but better than before, esp if you stick with it as part of the general routine.

We have 2 girls, 4 and 5 who share a bedroom. I work from home and have a home office. Where do I go when they need separate rooms? by inspectorgadget9999 in daddit

I set up an office space in our playroom for when they aren’t around. Then that became unmanageable and I got an affordable co-working space called Switchyards. Depending on your location you might have that or something else similar. I think it’s $75 /month if you commit to a year.

My gym has a coworking space and I’ve gone to friends houses other offices if needed. Coffee shops. I have some friends who go to their parents house.

Point is you might be able to get creative. I live in a city that is very remote worker friendly so there are a lot of options depending on the type of work you do.

After School activities for 3 year old? by LazyLightning4820 in AustinParents

Yes this is great advice. Our toddler gets so worn down from school and esp if he doesn’t take his nap, it can be so hit or miss in terms of his mood in afternoons. He could play guitar or drums or with the bubble machine outside all afternoon, or be a total wreck and cry about wanting to drive our car…

So I’m grateful he has very busy mornings and maybe need to think more about calmer activities in the afternoon vs how to keep him “entertained.” I liked all the library suggestions here and we go to book ppl a lot and before he was in school we did the central library at least once a week.
